To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

Gordon B. Hinckley, prior President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, said: “[People] see in this Church an anchor in a world of shifting values. The family is falling apart in America and across the world. We are putting strong emphasis on the family. It is appealing to people. They like it. They welcome it. They need help and we offer that help.

“Furthermore, it gives purpose to life.... We answer the old questions of Where did I come from? Why am I here? Where am I going? These great religious questions have been asked by men throughout the ages. We give them an assurance of who they are, sons and daughters of God. I am a child of God. We have a song that says that. We believe it. It is a fact with us. People find comfort. They find peace. They find strength in that.

“And in the organization they find sociability. They find friends. We are a very friendly Church. We are a very happy Church. We are a happy, go ahead people, and others like it.”

Angela answered…

I think the Church is growing because people see that there can be a better way to live, that they don't have to be bound by the chains of addiction, pornography, dysfunction and broken homes. We know that the most important thing in this world is the family and the future of this world is found in the lives of the children and teenagers we see on the street, in our malls and schools. The best thing we can do is teach them to be honest, upright and moral citizens who can contribute to the betterment of society. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaches that the family is incredibly significant--so significant that God wants us to be families forever, even when we die. This is huge for many people in the world who realize that their children can really be with them forever. There is tremendous comfort in that, and I think this is why so many people are drawn to this Church. It provides hope and peace.

Gene answered…

People are looking for truth about what God expects from them during their life. They want to know what it is all about, and where it will lead them. The answers given in the Church make sense and lead one to happiness and joy during their journey. They give hope and understanding that satisfies the inquiring mind. They are understandable to the learned and equally to the unlearned. They explain the relationship between God and man, and the purpose of our time on Earth.

Craig M. answered…

I think as a person comes to a Church meeting or meets a member of the Church, they see that the LDS Church is an active faith. I joined when I was 18 years old, and up to that point I had some spiritual feelings that there was more to learn. I felt the Spirit as I prayed about the story of Joseph Smith's first vision and as I read the Book of Mormon. So as I attended Church, there was a fellowship of like-minded people who discussed the Gospel of Jesus Christ and who attempted to live the Gospel. I think people need the Gospel, and therefore come to the Church to participate in it. Since we are missionary minded, following the Savior in spreading His message, there are more opportunities to share it, and people come. I am glad I did, my life has been richly blessed now for almost 30 years.

Bill answered…

As the ward mission leader in our ward, I have the opportunity of helping with missionary efforts in our local area. To me the growth of the church can be attributed solely to individuals earnestly searching for the precious truths of the gospel and then receiving personal answers regarding the message. The Spirit or Holy Ghost speaks to our hearts and testifies to the truthfulness of any message. As Heavenly Fathers children seek out these truths, they are able to find out for themselves what God would have them do. The church is growing because people experience a mighty change in their hearts and develop a testimony of the restored gospel.

Michael Alan answered…

It is true, is it not? Then what else matters? As people, who are sincerely seeking the truth and can not find it anywhere, discover God's truth of His plan of salvation for families, they come unto the true fold of God. The Holy Ghost prompts people and testifies of truth. As people feel that spirit, they want more, and the only way to have that constant companionship with them is to be baptized into the true fold of God.

Eli answered…

The Church is literally the same organization that Jesus instituted in the old world when He walked the earth. He leads the organization through a living prophet and 12 Apostles, just as He did in ancient times. His authority is held in the Church. Through the church He gives mankind the teaching, direction and hope that is needed in a troubled and often dark world. Those honestly seeking truth resonate with those priniples and teachings of the Church because quite simply they are truth and given from Heaven. Those who live the teachings find peace in their lives and hope for the future.

Cortley answered…

The reason the church has seen so much growth is because it is true.

Herbert Vieira de Sousa answered…

=ENGLISH=
We, as human beings, are used to want everything that is of worth and that bring us greater happiness. The growth of the Church can be attributed to the fact that we have something that other people don't have. When people look at our eyes and see twinkle in his eye even in great tribulated and challenging times in life, they wonder where that twinkle comes from. This twinkle comes from the fact that WE KNOW that God lives and answer our prayers; that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world; that the Church that Jesus Christ established 2000 years ago, have been restored and is again on earth to bring everlasting happiness to everybody's lives.

=PORTUGUES=

Gwen answered…

One of the things that attracts people throughout the world is the fact that the LDS Church does not change its standards to fit the times. It teaches the laws of God and holds to that despite being unpopular with some people. Generally I think those who are looking for truth appreciate that the Church keeps high standards in its teachings in more than just the laws of the land, but also in keeping high moral standards in actions and even attire.

Nick answered…

The scriptures teach that ”by their fruits ye shall know them”. The fruits of the Church are undeniably powerful. The Book of Mormon is one of the best fruits people have tested and found to be good. Many people find their very own testimony of the truth by reading the Book of Mormon with sincerity and finding it to be true. I think the LDS Church keeps growing because it’s hard for people to abandon the personal witness they receive from the Holy Spirit when they experience the Church’s fruits for themselves.

Kevin Jr. answered…

Individuals exercising their free agency to follow our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Kyrk Taylor answered…

I try my very hardest to be kind and happy towards others. People will see that I am always happy and never really get emotionally upset in a negative way. I will serve a mission and tell others of the wonderful gospel and its great impact on my life, and invite them to read the Book of Mormon. I will continue to speak in front of others and testify of the truth of this gospel and testify of our savior Jesus Christ. I also contriube by singing hymns and beautiful sacred music to crowds of people to invite the spirit into the room and their hearts.

Bryce answered…

The Church is composed of people from all walks of life and all kinds of backgrounds. The thing that ties us all together is that we strive, the best we can, to do good and to follow Christ. Although members of the Church fall short in many ways, I think that people appreciate the fact that Mormons try hard to be good people. We place a high emphasis on families and, therefore, the homes of Mormons are generally places of peace and goodness. We are a Church that finds joy in being neighbors, friends, and working alongside others.

Another factor for the Church's growth are the teachings of the gospel. They lift the spirits of all those who listen. Just as a plant will grow when watered and taken care of, our lives become strengthened and nourished by the good word of God.

Andrew! answered…

I personally attribute the growth of the Church to the power of the Holy Ghost! this Church is the true church on the earth today! And because it is the truth our Heavanly Father will testify of it through the power of The Holy Ghost... so I invite you to do the same...ask God, the Eternal Father and the Holy Gohost will testify the truth of the church unto you!

Tiffany answered…

The Church is growing so rapidly and I know it is because we have truth. Each of us has the opportunity to feel the Holy Spirit testify to us when we hear true principles, and when people are taught the Gospel, I believe they can feel the truthfulness of what is being taught. It makes them happy and it makes sense to them! We were taught these things in Heaven before we came to earth, so it's like our Spirits are remembering things they were taught before and it just rings true.

David Brower answered…

The lives of the members, which set an example of righteous living. Not that all are perfect, nor do we claim to be, but a member who is active in his or her beliefs will be striving to live the kind of life Christ led.

Steele Kizerian answered…

Joy in the lives of people who read the Book of Mormon and join the Church. There is peace and a filling of the void that so many people truly yearn for. Answers to all of your questions are found in the doctrines of the restored Church. People find their answers here and like how they feel. They feel closer to God and want to follow Him.

John David answered…

It serves as an anchor in a world of shifting values. Most people have an innate desire for that steadiness that comes through righteous living.

Dan answered…

The Mormon church is the fastest growing Christian church for one reason; simply because it's teachings are true! Christ stands at the head of this church and all teachings, actions & instruction lead us back to Him. There is no way someone outside of this church could ever believe this, when people used to tell me this I would mock them and feel sorry for their misguided faith. One can only know these words to be true by prayer; prayer to their Heavenly Father asking in sincerity for this answer.

Jordan answered…

I believe that the Church is growing so rapidly because we do something that no other Church ever dreams of doing. We ask our members and investigators to pray and have Heavenly Father testify of the things that we teach. When people prayerfully ponder our doctrines and then ask God with singleness of heart, they will always receive answers to their prayers. So many people have, and thats why the Church continues to grow

Morgan answered…

It's true. Simple as that. People are happier when they have the truth, and so we see the Church grow.

Dallan Ball answered…

The truthfullness of THE RESTORED GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST, in its entirety. It's not just half the puzzel or little itty bitty pieces that some members know and threw together. We are lead by a prophet and have the hope and knowledge that the Gospel of Jesus Christ brings in our lives. We desire to share it with others not just keep it for ourselves. So the word tends to get out there pretty well.

John answered…

Because its True!

Courtney Dee answered…

People see and feel the plain and simple truths that bring happiness to their lives and make their relationship with their Savior stronger.

Heidi: answered…

The church is true, it's doctrines, are true, the organization is true. The people are not perfect, but most try their best and are good people. Good people flock to truth so it is no surprise that the church has grown so quickly and will continue to grow, despite whatever persecution or opposition may come.

When people do come, they find answers. They find truth and peace and purpose. They find others with similar desires who welcome them with open arms. We work together to help one another stay true to what we know. It is a challenge in this world, but together we can succeed.

Mike. answered…

To me, truth is always in the eye of the beholder. If the Lord didn't want something so righteous to grow and be a part of so many lives it wouldn't.

Quentin answered…

Truth is truth and people who ponder and ask God can find out if something is true. The church does not say we are right and other churches are wrong. The Gospel of Christ in its basic form is common among virtually all religions though they don't call it that. Virtually all religions teach similar things to the 10 Commandments such as love one other, be honest, do not steal, love your wife, etc. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints takes all the truth that a person already has and merely adds a little more. God loves all people equally whether male-female, tall-short, smart-not smart regardless of background or where they are born. This is Christ's church and truth resonates with what people know intuitively. If truth is presented and testified to and the person ponders and prays and has a sincere desire to follow truth baptism into Christ's church is a natural result. Finding truth is one of the most joyous experiences a person can experience and I have found it in this church.

Scott answered…

The fact that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only true and living church upon the Earth is the reason why it has grown so rapidly. The Spirit testifies of truth, and the Spirit is touching the hearts of thousands each year, witnessing to them that this is indeed Christ's church.

Christopher answered…

The growth of the church can 100 percent be attributed to the truth. We are all truth seekers and so when we find it we cling onto it and continue to explore it. If it were not for the truthfulness of our church not a single person would be interested in it nor would they be willing to do the things we need to live this gospel.

Tom answered…

I think the Church grows for many reasons but a couple significant reasons are first, many people are searching for meaning in this existence. Why am I here, where did I come from and where am I going? The Church answered all these questions for me and helped me realize the things that were really important in life. Also, as happened with me once people read the Book of Mormon I believe they recognize it is the word of God.

Kara. answered…

There is just something about this church. You can feel it. It's different, it's good. And people want to be a part of something good. The church's teachings bring you closer to the kind of person you want to be--the kind of person the Lord knows you can be. Everyone there is on the same quest and the support in that is amazing.

Eric Ziegler answered…

Well the main thing that has helped the growth of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is it origin and no it did not come from man. It came from God the Eternal Father. and the truthfulness of his message.

Kevin answered…

I fully attribute the growth of the church, how smoothly it runs and how it has continued to thrive as time goes on to the fact that it is God's true church. God established his church on the Earth when Adam was called to be the first prophet, and continued calling prophets who wrote a history now called the Bible. That church was restored in the 1800s when Joseph Smith was called to continue that same line of authority as the next prophet, and today that same church that began with Adam is called the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of the church and runs it himself. That is why it grows so quickly. The truth will endure to the last.

Nick answered…

I think that the biggest reason for growth in the church is increased missionary effort. There are missionaries in nearly every part of the world and the church has been able to use a lot of new avenues in regards to technology to aid in missionary work.

Lynette answered…

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is based on eternal truths. In the world we live in today there is so much confusion, the LDS faith minimizes that confusion. The eternal truths that I mentioned above answer the questions that so many of us have and brings peace and comfort. In a world that has so much sadness and wickedness, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints brings hope and understanding. It brings a purpose, and meaning, direction and even responsibilities. Most of all, this Gospel blesses lives with love, and happiness.

Chelsea answered…

I do a lot of my professional research in West Africa. What I've found is that many people are attracted to the church because, first of all, the teachings ring true to them. Secondly, as traditional village leadership roles change the church gives people a place where they have a responsibility and role in taking care of their community.

Mark answered…

I believe the church to be the true church of Christ on the earth today. As such I believe that the spirit of God is within the church and people feel that. They want to feel the spirit of God and know of His truths . That's why I believe the church has grown so quickly.

Craig answered…

I think one reason our church has grown so rapidly and steadily is because it requires greater faith to believe. When much is required, greater is the reward. I believe many in the world are looking for an anchor, something that requires some sacrifice. Many churches are trying to make it easy for their members by lowering dress standards, making socializing the main part of worship and watering down doctrine to try to appeal to more people. Our faith has kept the standards God has for His children from the beginning. The doctrine never changes no matter the changing times. I think this is what attracts people to our church.

Lynnette answered…

People have always searched to understand their existance and purpose in life. The gospel of Jesus Christ offers these answers very simply. Everyone on earth is a child of God. We each have a divine purpose. We interact with one another to learn and grow. We should love and serve and help each other the best we can. Jesus is the perfect example of compassion and sacrifice. We believe in helping others, as we are all God's children. Our church gives us the scriptures from the past, the example and teachings of a living prophet and other authorities and leaders, and programs and activities to keep us actively engaged in becoming the best we can be individually as well as reaching out to others.

Zack answered…

I believe that the major growth of the church should be attributed to the pure truth in docterine and unmatched emphasis on familys and the eternal perspetive of the family. Thats what draws me into the church and also what keeps me here, i love my family, and i know the docterine we teach is true.

Judy answered…

I believe the growth comes as a result of the examples of the members. As I observe the young adults at the university, I see them introducing their friends and associates to the church. Then when these young adults hear the gospel, their hearts are touched by the truthfulness of it. Those two things are a huge influence on others looking for the truth.

Chris answered…

I attribute the explosive growth of the Church to two things.

First, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christ's church restored. Another way of saying that is that the LDS Church is the Church thtat Christ stands at the head of. God is the author of all truth. All that take the challenge of the LDS Church and read and pray about the Book of Mormon will have the Testator of all Truth, the Holy Ghost, confirm to them that it is true. The Church is growing because its claims are true and church members are more than willing to share.

Second, the emphasis on famliy means that many couples have many children. With many people maintaining large, strong families that are faithful, Church size grows exponentially over time.

Kristi answered…

I believe that we are in the latter days and that the restored gospel is being preached to the ends of the earth to prepare us for such times. I believe that the acceptance of the restored gospel and taking on covenants are necessary for us to return to Heavenly Father.

Geoff answered…

It’s true!! If it wasn’t 19 yr. old Kids would have ruined it years ago

April answered…

Back to one of my favorite quotes from Luke 6:43, people can easily see the fruit of our trees. In a world where suppositions, theories, and ways of life are as numerous and pervasive as the air we breathe so many people feel lost and pulled harshly in one direction and another. We fight to take small pieces out of the overwhelming amount of information that comes at us and put something together that remotely makes sense for us but in the long run it still doesn't feel right. It feels a little empty. I spent years feeling this way. We watch our children fall away into iniquity and we quiet our protests because the world tells us it is acceptable. We watch our family structure become devalued and we let it happen because the world tells us this is the way it should be. When you look to Heavenly Father for the answers to life rather than to your peers and fellow humans, the answers are always so simple and obvious. Right from wrong is no longer a blurred concept. This church is a beacon in a world of chaos and sin. What is right is right and what is wrong... is wrong. We live this and the fruit of our trees is a shining example of this doctrine. It stands to reason that all of the lost and confused souls in the world would eventually feel compelled to follow the example of good that can be found here. It is one of the greatest comforts Heavenly Father can offer us to have spiritual guidance to lead us through a difficult and sometimes confusing life.

Madeline answered…

Something so good, so true, cannot be stopped from being shared. We cannot hide our light under a bushel! The growth of the church is directly because of the truthfulness of this gospel and the power of God.

Anita answered…

I feel the growth of the church has happened because many of God's children have felt the Holy Ghost testify to them the purpose of this life. Many have had missionaries or friends introduce them to the Gospel. But, my true feelings for the growth of the church is because of the Lord's desire to bless the children of God. Jesus Christ wants more than anything for us to find our way back to our Father in Heaven, and he WILL provide that way. We are blessed with good and faithful leaders, missionaries and members of the church, who live the teachings of their Savior, Jesus Christ. The Gospel will be preached and many will feel and believe in the truth, and they will then take it to others, because that is what Jesus would want us to do.

Graham answered…

As with our own family the Church gives support, help and answers to some of life's most difficult questions.
In forty years of membership it has never failed to provide those things in all of my family's lives

David answered…

I believe that there is within all of us a desire for truth and right. Often when people first learn of the Church and the teachings of Christ within this church, they feel a resonance with their beliefs. Truth is truth no matter where it is found. When people find that truth in this Church, they want to pursue it. I also believe that our Church grows because our members are asked to gain a personal testimony. Church leaders have asked us to find out for ourselves if the teachings are true. When a person does that, they find an answer that cannot be duplicated or given to them by man. God does answer the humble petition.

Our Church doesn't comprimise on doctrinal points. This may make us unpopular with many, but it is also very comforting for others. There are many in this world looking for an anchor, a place of worship with unwaivering values. They will find that here. As we see a continual decline in morality and the acceptable values in the world, we will naturally see an increase in attendance in this Church.

Matt answered…

Open-hearted people! When people really want to find more truth, the Lord leads them to where it is.

Dalton answered…

This is God's work..

it will go forward.

Kelly answered…

I think that the Church is growing because it is consistent. It does not try to be popular. The values and the doctrine do not alter to accommodate the world.

Plus, when you come to meetings on Sunday it is like coming home. It is a family. We are in this together. No one is perfect. It is not a place for perfect people. We are all sick and ailing and need Jesus Christ. We cannot do it alone. That is why we have each other.

At church you find friends and people who really love you. All are welcome. It doesn't matter if you are rich or poor or how you vote in an election. We are all brothers and sisters and we try to treat each other that way.

Colby answered…

The growth of the Church, I believe, is best attributed to the fact that in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is found the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For those who are earnestly seeking truth, they can feel it when they learn about the Church and naturally want to be a part of it. I think that people are desperately searching for a Church of integrity and high moral standards, and they find that not only in the Teachings of the Church, but in the people as well.

Edward Fairchild answered…

It teaches the Truth. People are touched by the Spirit of the Lord and join with us. If you look at the growth of the Church for that last 200 years, you find that the growth is not fast, only steady.

Garrett answered…

The message that we share. It is all about our Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ. It teaches us about God's plan for us and how we can take part in his plan.

Brenda answered…

Missionaries that go on a mission to teach others, to share the message that God has a plan for everyone.

Luwanna answered…

I think the growth of the church is evidence of the righteous desires of people through out the world to learn and know and obtain truth. It reflects the need for the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the world and for the saving ordinances of the Gospel to be shared through out the world. It reflects the hard work and faith of members though out the world who not only serve missions preaching the Gospel, but who serve in their homes and communities changing lives and making the world a better place. I attribute the growth of the church to the truthfulness of the Gospel message as well as to the strength of those who are seeking truth in a world full of doubt, fear, greed and lust, and to the courage of those that live it and share it...

Brian answered…

The truth . It's very powerful and all human beings can feel the truth through the Holy Ghost

Alaina. answered…

People everywhere are faced with different obstacles in their lives. Some of these obstacles are more significant than others. Often, they will begin to search and wonder how to find answers to things in life. When the searching begins, it will lead them to wondering about the plan of happiness and the purpose of life. They begin to ask friends, some of whom may be Mormon. They too want that happiness and will want to learn further about the LDS church.

Our church has members all over the world to assist people with questions and answers. We also typically have over 50,000 missionaries serving all over the world to answer questions to those who have them. These can be young men and women, married couples or even single individuals devoting years of their life to teaching and proclaiming the gospel to those that need it. These missionaries are inspiring and definetely attribute along with the current members to the growth of our church.

Breanna answered…

I attribute the growth of the church to the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the desire it brings to share.

As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, we desire to share with others what brings us the most happiness in our lives, and so we share, we open our mouths to share our joy. We are an example to others in the way we act, dress, and carry ourselves in daily life, and this brings a question to those around us.

I think of experiences in my own life when tragic things were happening, or in the lives of my family members and friends and co-workers would ask how we were still so happy and put together. The gospel truths bring joy and happiness, stability, and a peace that nothing else brings.

The gospel of Jesus Christ answers questions of the soul, and gives direction in the lives of millions around the world. These answers and the peace the gospel brings are the reasons that the gospel is growing.

People all around the world want to find out for themselves about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We innately want to share with others what brings us the most joy, and that is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Robbie Platt answered…

 Its true,

Abbey answered…

This church wouldn't be where it is today if members of the church weren't willing to open their mouths and share the gospel, and if they weren't willing to lead by their example. As members of the church, we are watched and we are listened to. What we say and what we do has such a MAJOR impact on investigators and those we know that are not currently investigating the church. We have to know what we believe and we have to live what we know.

DarLee answered…

The Church is the true church on the face of the earth. It contains a fulness of the gospel fo Jesus Christ--meaning it's all there!! Anyone who learns about the church and honestly prays about it will receive that comfirmation. In a day when there is so much turmoil, I think people are looking for good morals and wholesome family values. That's what the church has to offer. Peace, answers, and stability.

Scott answered…

I attribute the growth of the Church to God, Or our Heavenly Father. Through the power Of the Holy Ghost he prepares his Children to receive the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, He often puts them in Humbling circumstances so their hearts can be softened, So that they are submissive, meek and Humble, so they have a Broken heart and a contrite Spirit, Basically meaning they are teachable. The Holy Ghost is what confirms to us what we need to know and what is true! "By the Power of the Holy Ghost we may know the truth of all things." So if you read and pray, with a sincere desire, with real intent, meaning to fully act upon the answer which you receive, i promise that you will receive an answer to whatever Question you have. that is how the Holy Ghost works, that is how God works. "God is not the Author of Confusion."

Lisa Jackson answered…

I attribute the growth of the church to the Holy Ghost, for helping people to remember the things they already knew in the pre-earth life.

Daniel C. answered…

Divine mandate. The words of God are fact. He declared the kingdom would spread across the earth, and by His power, it must be so. See Doctrine & Covenants 1:38 and 65:2.

Nathan answered…

I believe the growth of the Church is influenced by two factors:
1) The examples of faithful members of the church.
2) The change that individual's experience when they try living the principles taught by the church, which are really just the words of Jesus Christ.

Dave answered…

The Church is like an island of peace and safety in the midst of an ocean of uncertainty. It stands for something solid and real. I believe people are attracted to its high standards and peaceful atmosphere. Every teaching in the Church is designed for our happiness. I think people want to be happy.

Jared answered…

I attribute the growth of the LDS to church to its way of answering the basic questions of life. Where did I come from? Why am I here? Where am I going? The LDS church answers these questions very simply and easily with a belief in the Plan of Salvation. We believe that this plan is for everyone. It began with us living with God before we came to this earth. While we lived with God, he presented a plan for all of us to come down to this earth, receive bodies, and be tested. He layed this plan out for us to be able to prove ourselves to him. Everyone that accepted this plan came to earth. Because we all make mistakes, and God knows that, he sent his son to be our Savior. Jesus Christ came to this earth and suffered for all of our sins so that through him we can repent of our wrongdoings. If we follow in his example after death we can go to what we spirit paradise. For those that don't follow the example of Christ they will go into a place known as Spirit Prison where they will suffer for their wrongdoings. After the second coming of Christ to the earth, there will be a resurrection of ALL people. This means that EVERYONE will receive their body again in a perfected state. After everyone is judged on their works in this life they will receive a place in a Kingdom of Glory. We believe in not just Heaven and Hell but in 3 degrees of glory. Because God loves us so much he wants to give us glory. These kingdoms include: Celestial, Terrestrial, and Telestial.

Kenrick answered…

When one is searching for Truth, having a true desire to know what is right, the Spirit helps them to find it. As people come across the LDS Church they can feel something here that is familiar but stronger. As they investigate and learn more about the Church, they come to find, through the help of the Spirit, the peace and know that Christ is the head of this Church, that it is His, the one He authorized the men He has called to act on His behalf. This attributes to the growth.

Teresa answered…

I believe we are the fastest growing church because it is true and the spirit will testify of truth. Once you have a personal witness of the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ, you are compelled to follow.

Heather answered…

I attribute the growth of the church to the fullness of truth that it provides. The church provides a greater purpose to life. We also have a living prophet which is very unique. There are few things that bring me more solace than the fact that this church is being directed by a prophet of God.

The church also provides a great support system. I have moved multiple times in my life and have always found solace in the fact that I will have a church family that provides love, support, and friendship no matter where I am!

I also attribute the growth of the church to the examples of the members themselves. We are a friendly and a happy people. People are very often drawn to the people initially because of their friendliness and then later found out what the church has to truly offer. They are then drawn in because of the teachings of the gospel and the witness of their truth that is received through study and prayer.

Casey answered…

Well, to put it simply, it is true. The truth has and will continue to go forth boldly, nobly, and independent, as Joseph Smith said. This is the Church of Jesus Christ.

Hans answered…

I think that many people are looking for answers in their life. When they hear the gospel, the Holy Ghost speaks peace to their minds and hearts. They feel hope and peace. The restored gospel resolves questions that they had regarding the purpose of life and where we are going after this life. I think that we begin to feel that although we don't have all of the answers, we can gain those answers as they follow the gospel, and we will be supported along the way.

Steven answered…

The honest in heart, seeking for truth, resonate with the Gospel of Christ. When the Holy Spirit bears witness of the truth, our souls are drawn to the source of living water and we naturally come to Christ.

Andy answered…

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christ's church established on the earth today. It contains the fullness of the everlasting gospel, a living prophet today to guide the Church and God's children, and the Priesthood, or the authority to act in God's name.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ answers the questions we all have deep inside, or the questions of the soul. It is truth, and that is why it goes forth so boldly.

This is a bold claim, and the only way to know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christ's church is to read the Book of Mormon.

The prophet Joseph Smith referred to the Book of Mormon as the keystone of our religion. In an arch, the keystone is the center stone, at the very top. It holds the entire arch up, and if it is removed, the entire structure crumbles. The Book of Mormon holds together the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. If it is true, then it defines Jesus as The Christ, our Savior, and the Son of God. If so, then Joseph Smith was called by Him as a prophet, seer, and revelator to bring forth Christ's church today. Finally, it means that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christ's church, and there is none other.
I know that all that I have written is true. I would invite you to read the Book of Mormon, and to ask God, the Eternal Father, if it is true. He is your loving Heavenly Father, and He will answer your prayers.

Ryan answered…

In Acts 5:38-39 it talks about how if it be of God it cannot be stopped. Most churches will take a long time to grow because they need to convince people to join. In Jesus Christ's church, the members are not responsible for the "convincing", but the Holy Spirit. Because of the convincing power of the Holy Spirit, Jesus's church cannot fail.

Colleen Cook answered…

As Archbishop Desmond Tutu has said, “Somehow the world is hungry for goodness and recognizes it when it sees it." People everywhere in our troubled world are seeking truth for their hearts, answers for their minds and peace in their lives. As this gospel rolls forward more and more are finding those things here in the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

Daniel answered…

When all things are considered the Church grows because it's true. Weather it's because you are baptized into the Church or because you are born into a family already members of the Church the end result is that it's true and people stay because they know it's true.

Steve answered…

In an interview, President Gordon B. Hinckley explained once that people are drawn to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because the church expects things of its members. It seems to me that in a world where it is so difficult to find consistency, it is so refreshing to be a part of a Church that really understands the importance of practicing what you preach!! People are human and make mistakes . . . which is why it is so comforting to know that a defined, consistent, unchanging path back to the arms of the Savior exists. I am so thankful that my knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ, as taught by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, is there to help me to make correct decisions in a society of "political correctness" and moral relativism. I can be confident that I know exactly what the Savior expects of me!!

Marinda answered…

I believe that the growth of the church is due to two factors. The first is due to globalization that has lead to people having more open minds about what is true. They realize that the answers to life's greatest questions might be found somewhere other than what they were taught as a child, leading them to either start looking on their own or to being more receptive when the missionaries or a LDS friend shares the gospel with them.

The second reason is due to the fact that the church is true. If someone is honestly looking for truth, God will let them know when they've found it.

I believe it is the example of the members, we as members feel much joy from having the Gospel in our lives that it draws others to want to know more. I am a shy person but the Gospel has helped me realize my own self worth and to become more outgoing. I love how no matter where you go in the world, you will always have a family in the church. Our love for the Savior and our Heavenly Father, gives us the desire to want to reach out to others.

Donna answered…

I think the Church is growing so rapidly because people are seeking goodness in the world. There are so many wonderful Christlike people that are members. Good people attract other good people. God is gathering His people to His Church. The Spirit of God guides honest seekers of truth to the true church.

Trevor answered…

The world and society today promises so much and delivers so little. People who try to do things in the world's way often find themselves feeling empty and without a center.

The gospel of Jesus Christ is so complete and whole that when it is accepted and lived it brings an incredible fulfillment and foundation to life. In contrast to the world. The gospel of Jesus Christ promises much and delivers even more.

Randy answered…

Never before has there been a more stark contrast between the Doctrine of Christ and the doctrine of the world. People are seeking for something better, something rock-solid and true, something that will help them see the difference between truth and error and give them the strength to face life's inevitable challenges. That something is truth - a fullness of the truth - as found in the pure and complete gospel of Jesus Christ found within the church. It stands apart, and people see it and want it in their lives.

Patrick answered…

I attribute the growth of this Church to the truthfulness of its message. If our message was false then we wouldn't of been guided and saved by the grace of God during the years of persecution to be able to of grown and flourished as a Church like we have today.

Britten answered…

Two things. First, it is Jesus Christ's church. Second, we are sharing it with everyone.

Jennifer answered…

The fact that it is true and that the Holy Spirit bears witness of all truth is the real reason, but the truth has to be heard or read before the spirit can bear witness, so I guess it is also due to the fact that people who have the fullness of the gospel love to share it with everyone they meet. They share it by their smiles, their testimonies of how important families are to them, by their integrity, full time missions, and sharing the additional testament of Jesus Christ, namely The Book of Mormon.

Brittany answered…

And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come” (Matt. 24:14).
Our missionaries are called to be those who preach this gospel that all the world can hear it! It is not just them that has allowed for the growth of this church, it is the spirit that is felt by others as they hear the Gospel. There is no other way, but by the spirit, that we can know the truthfulness. Each person living, or that has lived, or has yet to live will recieve the opportunity to hear the Gospel. It is up to them whether or not to accept it. It is up to them to pray about it, and to feel the Holy Ghost bearing witness that this is the true church.

Danny answered…

I believe that the Church is growing because more and more people are drawn to the beautiful, simple, true teachings it offers in a world that grows harder to live in each day, and they are praying to ask God if it's true. They're receiving their answers just as God has promised and they're choosing to become members of the church that they know to be God's kingdom on Earth. It's growing because it's true. People aren't just joining to be more financially secure or to make more friends, the Church doesn't appeal to any selfish or worldly desire, but rather it appeals to our spirits, to that divine part of our character that knows what we're here for and where we want to go. The church will keep growing as more of God's children humble themselves and search for Him, and as the members of the Church invite all to come unto Him.

Mackay answered…

I attribute the growth to the Church to truth. When people hear things that ring true to them they go to it. And with a world that is struggling with morals When someone stands for something good people go to it. The Church and its members hold to that standard.

Brian Parrish answered…

The simple fact that this is the true church of Jesus Christ on the earth today. The Plan of Salvation is for all mankind and people are hungry for truth worldwide. If this church was not true I believe it would collapse tomorrow!

Garett answered…

I attribute the growth to the fact that people are attracted to truth. We all want truth, and to be bold/blunt... you can find it in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. If you don't find it right away, we encourage you to search for it. Question, study, question some more.
As people start to understand what we believe, it because familiar, and it feels right.

Ray Takashi S. answered…

Sociologist Rodney Stark, who is not a Latter-day Saint, has studied the Church for decades and believes it is a good model of how the original Christian Church grew in the First through Fourth Centuries. He points out that LDS Church membership growth in a single year is modest, about half from children born in LDS families and half from conversions of people who were not LDS. However, over twenty years the compounding effects result in a doubling of LDS membership. These are not theoretical or estimated, but actual counts of baptisms and enrollment in Church records. Professor Stark believes this rate corresponds to the historical rate of doubling of the original Christian Church, and that like the LDS Church, it grew gradually through family, neighbor and friend contacts.

Stark's own theory for LDS growth is that the high demands that the Church places on its members, especially sacrificing their time to perform all the duties that typical churches expect from paid clergy, while supporting themselves in regular jobs, increases the value of being a member. The LDS know they can rely on each other for help in a crisis.

However, the LDS converts will tell you that it is God's spirit that converted them. People who convert to the LDS Church generally spend at least several weeks meeting with the missionaries, and some take months. The Church does not baptize people who simply walk into a meeting and ask for baptism, as some Christian "crusades" might do.

"My sheep know my voice ... and they follow me" (John 10:27).

Dallin answered…

From the example of the members who diligently strive to live like Christ.

And that its the true church of course

Chad answered…

Because its true. There is no other answer.

Gunnar answered…

It's True. Pure and simple. It is the only restored gospel of Jesus Christ on the earth today.
