The Holy Ghost can bless your life in many ways. Christ promised His Apostles that the Holy Ghost would “teach you all things” (John 14:26) and “guide you into all truth” (John 16:13). He also said that the Holy Ghost “shall testify of me” (John 15:26).
Likewise, the Holy Ghost can help you. Through the inspiration of the Holy Ghost, you can recognize and understand truth and make right choices and inspired decisions.
The Holy Ghost can inspire you with thoughts and ideas, warn you, and comfort you in times of sorrow.
You may have already felt His influence at times in your life. That influence includes “love, joy, [and] peace” (Galatians 5:22).]
Almost everyone has felt the Holy Ghost at some time. But there is a difference between experiencing the occasional influence of the Holy Ghost and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Although the Holy Ghost may temporarily comfort someone or reveal truth to them, the gift of the Holy Ghost is reserved for those who have been baptized and confirmed into Christ’s Church. This gift is the privilege of enjoying the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost conditional upon keeping the commandments.
The gift of the Holy Ghost is given when a person is confirmed a member of the Church after baptism by someone having priesthood authority from God. It is given by the person having authority laying their hands upon the head of the person who was baptized and giving them a blessing to receive the Holy Ghost (Acts 8:14-18). Whether or not we then receive this great gift depends on our keeping the commandments of God.
The Holy Ghost is a divinely appointed companion who can accompany us through life. He will draw near to all who are seeking truth, but earning his constant companionship requires obedience to the laws and ordinances of the gospel. In this life we are not much different than the Ugly Duckling from the children's story by this name by Hans Christian Anderson. We are born into an environment and a society that is different from who we are inside. We are born with an eternal spirit within us. That spirit brings with it divine attributes, similar to those attributes that Jesus Christ exemplified when he was on earth. But our society, in general, embraces many attributes that are earthy, not divine. Just as the Ugly Duckling did not fit in, because of his heritage, so it is with mankind. As children of God, we do not fit into this earthy existence, because of our heritage. The Holy Ghost is like the Swan, who shared the same heritage as the Ugly Duckling. As a heavenly being, the Holy Ghost shares a divine heritage with us. With His companionship we are constantly reminded who we really are, and what our true potential is. As we embrace the Gift of the Holy Ghost we begin to develop heavenly attributes. The apostle Paul described some of those attributes when he said: "The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance..." In this way, the Holy Ghost will help us reach our divine potential. Show more

The Holy Ghost can bless your life in many ways. I know, personaly, it has affected me in the little choices that I make every day. Though it may start little, every prompting of the Holy Ghost is an important one. The Gift of the Holy Ghost is one of the greatest gifts man can recieve, other than the gift to love. I honestly have grown closer to my personal companion, and this has impacted my life in so many little and big ways. Show more
The Holy Ghost can bless your life in a variety of ways. The Holy Ghost is a comforter, and can bring peace in times of trial. The Holy Ghost can guide us to truth and in our day to day experiences. The Holy Ghost purifies us, and brings out our good qualities, making them better. It teaches us of Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father, and brings thoughts and ideas to our remembrance. There are so many different ways that the Holy Ghost can bless our lives, it is amazing. The best part is, the Holy Ghost is a manifestation of God's love for us, His children. He wants us all to return to live with Him, and the Holy Ghost is our guide back to our heavenly home. Show more
He confirms the truth of things to us. He does this either through thoughts or feelings. Because of the Holy Ghost we can 'feel' that the things are true. If those things are not true he will not give us those good feelings. Those feelings have been described as uplifting, enlightening. The Holy Ghost teaches us all things we should do. For anyone wanting to know that these things are true for themselves, my advice is ask the source of all truth, i.e. God himself, and He will answer that prayer through the Holy Ghost. Show more

The Gift of the Holy Ghost to me is something very special and is one of the greatest gifts we receive from God, with the Holy Ghost we can have promptings from it such as a good feeling, calmness, gentleness just like when you walk away from a service project you feel great about what you did, that is the Holy Ghost. Why we call it a Ghost is not because it scares you or anything, it is something we can't see but we know is real through those promptings. we receive this gift from God when we are baptized by the priesthood authority such as John the Baptist. Once we are baptized we receive it as a constant companion, which in other words is with you forever and will always be by your side if you live faithfully follow the commandments and live Jesus Christs teachings. The gift of the Holy Ghost is the ability to have the influence of the Holy Spirit whenever it is necessary or desired. Whenever I need confirmation that what I am doing is in keeping with the will of the Lord, I can ask and know that I will receive personal revelation. The Holy Ghost speaks to our hearts and our minds. When the Holy Ghost is inspiring us, we feel happy, peaceful, clear in mind, and ideas come that we never would have thought of on our own. As long as I am working my hardest to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, I can know that I will receive guidance for my family. The Holy Ghost inspired me to make decisions such marrying my wife, moving to Arizona, and when to start my family. I can proceed through life without fear, because I know that the Lord approves of the decisions in my life. Show more

My favorite blessing I receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost would have to be one of comfort. Whenever i'm nervous, scared, sad, or feeling anxious, if I pray to Heavenly Father and ask for some comfort He always sends it to me. The Holy Ghost brings peace. I try to live worthily so I deserve that great blessing of peace. I'm so grateful I can feel the Holy Ghost's presence and guidance all the time since I was baptized and given the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands of the priesthood at age 8. The Holy Ghost has led me to do things and to be in certain places at specific times. It's a really cool feeling knowing that I was led by the Spirit of God to help someone or comfort someone. I've learned that a lot in life that usually our prayers are answered by each other. We have to listen for those quiet whisperings of the Holy Ghost to know where we need to be. There could be someone who needs our words of comfort or guidance or even just a hug. Show more
