Trials brought about by the choices of others

You probably have friends or family members who are suffering because of the choices of others. Perhaps you yourself have been injured in an accident that wasn’t your fault. Perhaps you know the pain of a son or daughter who made unwise choices. You may have been laid off from your job. Maybe you are the victim of a crime. Perhaps you are troubled by the suffering that comes as a result of war or gang violence.

You may feel helpless because of this kind of suffering. The pain may be that much more difficult because it seems so unfair.

Many of life’s challenges are beyond your control, but they can be instrumental in increasing your courage and faith. They may help create sympathy toward others. You can develop an increased desire to be of service to those who are experiencing similar trials.
