Plan one-on-one time with family members
Plan one-on-one time with family members

Some of the most valuable teaching opportunities occur when you spend one-on-one time with a child. When you’re alone with a child, he or she can receive your undivided attention. The child can share feelings and ask questions without fear of what others may think. It’s also a good time for you to share your feelings.

Here are some ways to spend one-on-one time together:

  • Schedule time for each child.
  • Ask your children for suggestions.
  • Do family chores together.
  • Make bedtime special.
  • Develop shared interests.
