Agree on how to raise children

Even if you are very compatible as husband and wife, you may not be completely unified when it comes to matters concerning parenting.

It is important to work these issues out before you find yourself arguing in front of your child. Try holding parent planning meetings. From bottle-feeding to dating, there will always be plenty to talk about.

Here are some things to remember as you plan and discuss:

  • Make a list of current and upcoming problems.
  • Don’t discuss problems when you are upset.
  • Don’t make decisions in front of your child.
  • Look at problems from your child’s point of view.
  • Talk about your goals for your child. As you work together, you can gain confidence that you can meet problems as they arise.
