Focus on what you can do
Focus on what you can do

You may know parents who seem to have the capacity to do everything that is asked of them. You may compare yourself to such parents and feel inadequate. You may even feel like a failure.

Here are some suggestions to help you focus on what you can do:

  • Don’t pressure yourself to be superwoman or superman.
  • Assess your own situation and focus on what you can do to help your family members work together and support each other.
  • You probably hear a lot of advice from well-meaning family and friends. Not all of it applies to you. Don’t feel obligated to take it.
  • Remember, your Heavenly Father loves you and knows your needs, strengths, and desires. He can help you make the best choices for your family.
