But you have this promise: “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you” (James 4:8). You can draw closer to God by: Talking to Him through heartfelt, personal prayer. Reading and really thinking about His teachings in the scriptures. Attending worship services to learn more about Him. Keeping His commandments. Remember, God is your loving Father in Heaven, not some mysterious, distant, indifferent being. He hears the words you say, understands your thoughts, and will answer in His way your sincere prayers.
