Hi, I'm Sarah
I'm a mom, I love the outdoors, I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I am a young mom with two sweet little children, and a hard working husband. I like to have fun. My days are spent trying to keep the house up, and teach these kids and keep them busy with uplifting activities. When I am not trying to get food down these stubborn kids or changing diapers I love spending time with my husband, being outdoors, hiking, knitting or scrap-booking.
Why I am a Mormon
I was first a Mormon because I grew up learning the teachings of Christ from my parents. At first I only believed because it was what my parents, teachers, friends, and siblings believed, but my testimony or knowledge as grown so much since then. I not longer am a Mormon because of others but because I know it to be true for myself. I have read The Book of Mormon many times and felt the spirit of the Lord confirm the truthfulness of it to me. In turn I know that Joseph Smith is a true prophet and that Heavenly Father loves each of us and has returned his church on the earth again. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is His church on the earth. It is so wonderful to have a prophet on the earth today. My life is rich and full of purpose because I know these things and what God would have me be and do.
Personal Stories
Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?
We are dealing with being unemployed right now like so many others. It's a trying time. We have been moving around and living with other family members. We are grateful for those who are helping us out but it breaks my heart when my little son says, "I want to go home to my home." It can be terrifying not knowing what the next day has in store for our family but I have found peace and hope through prayer. I know the Lord has something in store for us. He is helping us learn and He will not lead us astray. I am so grateful to have this knowledge or I wouldn't be able to get through this trial.
How I live my faith
I live my faith first and for most in the home. I feel the constant pull of the world telling me success and purpose lie in an influential job in the workplace, but I understand God has a greater purpose for me. I am able to stay home with my children and be the greatest influence in their lives. My husband who understands the sanctity of women and understands what Heavenly Fathers asks of us makes it possible for me to be at home with our children. I feel of great worth because I have the highest calling and best job in the world and it's that of a mom.
I live in a community there I rub shoulders with many wonderful mothers of other faiths. I am able to speak of the knowledge of a Savior and his plans for our families. We find strength as mothers as we learn from each other and find support in the knowledge of God's plan for us.
At church I get to work with the children. I wonder if they really get anything out of our teaching as they wiggle in their seats, talking about their dogs, and poke their neighbor. But I know it's worth it. This time will be the foundation for the rest of their lives. And every once in a while they will actually answer a question or share their testimony and I know I may actually be making a difference.
