About Me

I am a young father who is doing my best to provide for my family. I'm earning my MBA while working full time. I enjoy camping, fishing, hiking and baseball.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to follow my Savior through being baptized just as he was. I understand and acknowledge how the Church of Christ was established when he was on this Earth. I know that it is necessary to have Prophets and Apostles to lead and guide us. I know that God calls the meek and humble to "come and follow Him." I know that Joseph Smith was visited by God the Father and Jesus Christ. I will stand for truth and righteousness, I will testify of the living God because I know that I am His son. He loves all of his children and wants the best for all of us.

How has The Book of Mormon helped you understand the purpose of life?

It is my "play-book" to life. It sets boundaries and makes me understand my true purpose.

How I live my faith

I live my faith be standing for what is right. I don't smoke, drink, or do drugs. I do my best to be involved in my community and serve my congregation weekly. One thing unique about every member of the church is that we have the opportunity to be a home teacher for men or a Visiting teacher for women. This is where we have the responsibility to look out and care for those in the church. We all need a friend to lean on, and this enables us to serve those around us.

What is faith?

To have faith is to “hope for things which are not seen, which are true” (see Book of Mormon, Alma 32:21 and Hebrews 11:1). Each day you act upon things you hope for, even before you see the end result. This is similar to faith.
Faith in God is more than a theoretical belief in Him. To have faith in God is to trust Him, to have confidence in Him, and to be willing to act on your belief in Him. It is a principle of action and power.
The Book of Mormon prophet Alma compared faith to a seed. If you plant a seed and nourish it, if it is a good seed it will grow and eventually bear fruit (Alma 32:28-43). It is the same with faith. If you are obedient to God’s commandments, study His word, and have a desire to believe in Christ, faith will grow inside of you.

It's another word for commitment. When assessing one's own faithfulness, it may be easier to ask, "How committed are you?"

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

God through out the ages has spoken to His children through living prophets. We have a prophet today, named Thomas S. Monson. He is a prophet just like Moses, Abraham or Peter. My wife and I, were blessed to be personally called by President Monson to serve a mission. For 2 hours we sat in his office as he taught us. We felt his spirit and his love. I know that he is a prophet. This is the Savior’s church and He leads this church just as he did anciently through a living prophet. As we follow President Monson’s teaching and example we will be blessed to draw nearer to the Savior.
