I'm a graduate music student in piano performance, a piano teacher, a mom and a grandma. And I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of the church and learning about the Savior has given me comfort in my life, through all the ups and downs. I feel peace knowing that God loves me and all of His children.

I read the Book of Mormon, prayed to know if it was true. I received an answer from the Holy Ghost that it is a true book of scripture. I have also come to know that Jesus Christ is our Savior, that God is my Father, and that He loves me. As I follow His teachings, I feel God's love and support in my daily life.

How I live my faith

I play the organ for Sunday worship services. I feel grateful to have the opportunity to participate and contribute, and I've learned loads about accompanying and playing the organ and how it's different than playing piano.

I also teach Sunday lessons to the 16-17yr old young women, and help at their activities. It's so much fun working with teenagers and helping them learn about Jesus Christ and gain their own testimonies.

What is the Relief Society?

The Relief Society is the Church auxiliary group for the women ages 18 and older and is the largest women's organization in the world. Relief Society meetings are held each Sunday for 50 minutes, and usually include a lesson and discussion about a topic of church doctrine. Other periodic meetings are also held during the week about topics to help support women's roles as mothers, wives, community members, citizens, etc.

The Relief Society motto is "Charity Never Faileth", because the mission of the Relief Society is to help those in need.

I love Relief Society because it helps support me as a wife, mother and as a woman and has enriched my life. I have also enjoyed making friends and have had a lot of fun along the way.

The Relief Society is the organization in the Church where women come together to strengthen, serve, and teach each other. It's Motto is "Charity Never Faileth" which women of the Church live by to bring relief to the weary and down trodden. Women meet as a Relief Society each week to learn about the Gospel and grow closer to Jesus Christ. Women are asked to serve in many capacities within the Relief Society and give of their time and talents. There are also activities where women share skills and do service for those in their community as well as victims of disasters around the world.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Grace is a gift from Heavenly Father given through His Son, Jesus Christ. The word grace, as used in the scriptures, refers primarily to enabling power and spiritual healing offered through the mercy and love of Jesus Christ.

Everyone on earth experiences physical death. Through the grace of Jesus Christ, all will be resurrected and will live forever.

Because of personal choices, everyone also experiences the effects of sin. These effects are called spiritual death. No one can return to the presence of God without divine grace. Through the Atonement, we all can be forgiven of our sins; we can become clean before God. To receive this enabling power, we must obey the gospel of Jesus Christ, which includes having faith in Him, repenting of our sins, being baptized, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and trying to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ for the rest of our lives.

The grace of God helps us every day. It strengthens us to do good works we could not do on our own. The Lord promised that if we humble ourselves before Him and have faith in Him, His grace will help us overcome all our personal weaknesses.
