Jennifer: mom, entreprenuer, archaeology, book reviewer, missouri, family, Mormon.

Hi, I'm Jennifer

Born in California, I live in Missouri I am married with young kids. I am a book reviewer and entrepreneur and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the LDS Church in the Bay Area, in California. I married young and started a family young and now live in Missouri. I graduated from college with a degree in Anthropology and Archaeology. I emphasized in Mesoamerican and Mesopotamean Archaeology. I did my field study in Petra, Jordan. I am now a book reviewer as well as running my own at-home business. I enjoy reading, doing genealogy research, playing with my kids and going to see movies.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Because I want to be. Because I believe that this is the only true church. Because I know in my heart and soul that Jesus is our Savior, that Joseph Smith was his prophet, that the Book of Mormon is true, and that the only true way to be happy in this life and in the life to come is to follow God's commandments and to live my life as He would have me do.

Personal Stories

Why do Mormons do family history or genealogy work?

Families are important. We believe that through the sealing powers, we can be sealed to our families for all eternity. But, we can't do that if we don't know who are families are. I have always felt that I have a responsibility to do family history research since it is relatively easy to do now that so much is computerized. My ancestors are the reason I am here. They lived their lives and raised their children in such a way that I was able to be here, with a good family. Whether they fought in wars, pioneered across unknown territory, created laws, or simply lived their lives and brought up their children, they were important and deserve to be able to be with their families. And as their descendant, a beneficiary of their life works, I feel blessed to be able to seek them out, learn about them, and give them an opportunity to be with their families in the hereafter.

How I live my faith

I believe that the best way to live my faith is to emulate Jesus, our Savior. I try to live my life as He did. For all those that I meet I try to offer my friendship, my understanding, my compassion and my love. I know that each of us is a special child of God and that He would want us to take care of each other.
