I'm working on my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in California and graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Exercise Science. I am currently attending graduate school where I hope to earn a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. I love sports, movies, and being with friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in a Mormon family and grew up in a home that was true to the principles of the church. As I have grown older I have seen in my own life how these principles have blessed me and my family. Jesus Christ is at the head of this church and on numerous occasions I have felt this to be true.

Personal Stories

Can you talk about the missions of the Church and your participation in them?

I had the opportunity to serve a 2 year mission in southern Brazil. It was a wonderful opportunity to share the truth of the gospel with God's children in that part of the world. Being able to see people's lives change as they implemented the principles of the church in their homes further strengthened my foundation as a member of the church. It was a great blessing to serve those people.

How I live my faith

Much of my time is devoted to school work and trying to do my best to prepare myself for the physical therapy profession. Principles that I learn at church and in gospel study definitely apply to my everyday life and I know they will help me in my future profession.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon was written by prophets of God much like the Bible. Prophets who lived in the ancient Americas also wrote of their revelations and happenings on the American continent. The teachings of The Book of Mormon are in harmony with the Bible because they are instructions to us from the same God. After being preserved for many centuries, God instructed the Prophet Joseph Smith to translate these original records and publish what we know today as The Book of Mormon.

The Book of Mormon is a record of the ancient inhabitants of America, and their dealings with God; namely, the native Americans. God is no respector of persons; He loves all His children. He wants us all to make it back to live with Him; the Book of Mormon is proof to me that God loves all people of all nations; why would he only give His Word to just the Children of Israel?
The Book of Mormon was written by the prophets that were called of God on the American Continent; they too testifed that Jesus is the Christ, and he would surely come to redeem us from our sins. The book gets it's name from the prophet Mormon, who collected the individual records kept by prophets throughout the centuries, and complied them into one volume, written on gold plates. He gave them to his son, Moroni, who buried them in a hill by what is now known as Upstate New York. Centuries later, a young man named Joseph Smith, who wanted to know which church was true, had a vision of God the Father and His Son, who told him the truth was lost over the years, and he would be a tool in the Lord's hands to restore what was lost. A few years later, that same Moroni who buried the plates, visited Joseph as an angel of the Lord, and directed him to the ancient record. Through the gift on power of God, he was able to translate the book into English. The Book of Mormon helps us understand the fullness of the Gospel; with the Bible, we can discover God's will for us.
