Mindi: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Mindi

I've lived in 15 different places. I'm a mom of twins. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of four sweet little kids, including a set of twins! I love the fine arts, especially ballet. I ran my own little dance studio before the twins came along...now THEY keep me on my toes all day instead. I love cooking gourmet meals with my husband, making dvds of family memories, and throwing fun birthday parties for my kids. I lived in Europe as a teenager and can't wait to take my family there for a visit one day. I can get pretty into college football, and I really enjoy reading good books with my kids before bed.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that there is a God, that we are His children, and that He loves us. I have felt that love. He has a plan for us...there is a purpose in us being here on earth. That just makes sense to me. Because He loves us, I believe that He sent His son, Jesus Christ, to provide a way for us to return to Him. Prophets have spoken about Jesus Christ from the beginning of the world. When Christ was on the earth He established an organization to teach and bless those that followed him that included apostles and teachers and ordinances. It makes sense to me that His church today would have that same organization and authority from Jesus Christ. I believe that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a restoration of the church that Jesus Christ established, and that He guides it today through revelation to prophets and apostles just as in ancient times. It is very logical I think. Besides it making perfect sense to me, I have seen good things come in my life as a result of my belief. I have lived by the teachings of the church and have felt unmistakeable peace and joy and seen tangible good come directly from it. It is like how you know about anything I guess...you try it out and see that it works, that it feels right, that it opens up more and more goodness and truth to you as you go along.

How I live my faith

I love how the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints gives its members so many great opportunities to serve. I think that service is one of the main ways that we can follow Jesus Christ and become more like Him. I have had the chance to teach children and teenagers at church, and to help plan activities and seek out those in need among the other women at church. I have a couple of other women that I have the opportunity to specifically look out for. Everyone in the church has someone like that that is looking out for them individually. I have made some great friends this way, but I also love that it gives me the opportunity to get to know and serve people as individuals...as Christ did. I know that He knows these women and their needs individually and can inspire me to help them in the ways that they most need it. It is one of the best feelings ever to know that you have been an instrument in God's hands to help someone else that He loves.
Probably the biggest way that I live my faith, though, is in my home. I love teaching my children. I really like to come up with fun creative ways to teach them about the things in life that matter most. We have a night each week that we gather as a family and learn about different aspects of God's plan for us. We read from the scriptures every night together and pray together before we go to bed. We practice loving and serving each other in our home. We all work together to become better and learn more. My precious children are God's children also and when I ask and listen He ALWAYS helps me to know what I need to do and say to better care for and teach them.
