Lacy: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Lacy

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom to 4 incredible kids. There isn't a better job in the world than to get to be a stay at home mom, and i know I am incredibly blessed to get to do it. I love to camp, ride 4-wheelers, go to the lake, take pictures, and eat!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a mormon my entire life. Some of my ancestors settled some of the towns in Utah. I hear people say all the time they wish they could be converts because you get to see what your life is without the gospel. But I feel like I am a convert in a way, just like everyone. Because at some point you have to decide for yourself if this church is true. When I was 18 I met and wanted to marry an amazing man, but I hadn't been "converted" yet. I hadn't truly decided for myself, I was still depending on others testimonies to carry me along. But I read my scriptures with more sincerity and prayed to my Heavenly Father like he was there in front of me. I didn't have any visions or major thing happen, but I knew in my heart that it was true and right. I love this gospel. I am grateful for the person it has help me become. I am a better mother, wife, daughter, and friend because of this church. I know Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God and I know this church is the only true church on the earth today.

Personal Stories

How can your talents and gifts bless others?

I am the first to admit that I don't feel like one of those super talented people. I wish I could sing or play an instrument, but I can't. But the one thing I can do is share my faith with others. I get to teach children every week at church. I know that it is a talent and a gift from Heavenly Father that I can help them feel the Holy Ghost and help their testimonies grow of Jesus Christ. To be talented or gifted doesn't mean I can sing or dance, but just because those aren't my talents doesn't mean Heavenly Father hasn't blessed me with some amazing gifts.

How has attending Church services helped you?

Going to church each week isn't always easy with 4 little kids! A lot of Sundays I go home wondering why we even bothered because I didn't hear a thing. But I know, even on those Sundays, my spirit has been fed and I have been uplifted and rejuvenated for the coming week. And I want my children to know that going to church is what we do on Sunday. We learn about Jesus and we learn how to be better people. We take the sacrament, and promise to try to do better the coming week. It gives me a chance to have a fresh start every single Sunday!

Please share your feelings/testimony of Joseph Smith.

My husband and I had the opportunity to do a 12 day tour of all the sites of Joseph Smith's life. it was the the best 12 days of my life! I can completely understand how the early members of our church were willing to follow him anywhere! He was an innocent 14 year old boy who just wanted to make the right decisions. And by so doing, prayed in a grove of trees so no one would see him and was visited by our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. He said that he could not deny what he saw because he knew it and he knew Heavenly Father knew it. I know without a shadow of a doubt that he saw what he said he saw. I know that through him, the true church of Jesus Christ was restored on the earth. That the power of God is on the earth once more. And that priesthood power can and does bless our lives every single day. I know he was a good man, but just a man. He tried to do every single thing Heavenly Father asked of him, and He asked quite a bit of Joseph! He was faithful to the day he died. Praise to this man!!!

What are you doing to help strengthen your family and make it successful?

It is a challenge everyday to be a parent in the world today. But as a family, when we pray and read our scriptures there is greater peace and harmony in our home. When we make family time a priority we are happier and it seems the more time we spend together the kinder we are to each other.

How I live my faith

I get to serve in primary with all the kids from age 18 months to 11 years old. It is one of the most rewarding things I have got to do. The primary program is truly inspired. To get to spend each Sunday teaching, but also learning from these little, perfect spirits is amazing.
