Katrina: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Katrina

About Me

I am a happy mother of two, a Trauma Nurse, and a long distance runner! I have been blessed with two sweet children and a loving husband who is going to school to get his Bachelors degree in Biology. I am working on the Trauma unit as a RN while he finishes his schooling. I love to spend time with my family-read books to my children, take them to parks, play games with my husband and our friends, and just have good quality time with those that I love! I also love to run- it's been my hobby since I was 12. I play piano, trumpet, and enjoy singing! I grew up in the LDS church, and am grateful to be sealed to my husband and family for eternity. They are my true joy and happiness!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the LDS church my whole life, but it was not until I was a teenager that I gained a strong testimony for myself of Christ and his atonement that he made for all of us. As we all know, none of us are perfect, and I know that I have made so many mistakes. But, because of Christ's atonement, I know that those mistakes are basically erased from my life through the repentance process. I am so grateful for this knowledge, and to know that I have a Heavenly Father- who truly loves me and wants to see me succeed in life. He wants me to be able to live with Him again so badly, that he sacrificed his only Begotten Son so that we in return could have eternal life. I have read the Bible and the Book of Mormon, and I know that they are both inspired words from God through his prophets here on earth. They have given me guidance throughout my life, and have contained answers to many of my prayers. I know that we have a prophet today to guide us and direct us in God's way. I know that this church contains the fullness of God's gospel, and will bring eternal happiness into my life as I follow the teachings of the prophets in the scriptures and our prophet on the earth today.

Personal Stories

How does making right choices help us make more right choices?

I will never forget the day I got married in the Temple of the Lord. That was a very important decision I was making, and I knew that it was going to affect the rest of my life. Because of my marriage in the temple, I am now sealed to my husband and family for eternity. Not only that, but I made important promises to the Lord in the temple to be righteous, and because of that, I feel a stronger commitment to choose the right, be honest with those around me, and keep all of God's commandments.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in multiple ways. First and most importantly, I teach my children daily that there is a God, who loves them and wants them to be happy, and who will always be there for them. I do this by saying daily family prayers, and reading out of the Bible and Book of Mormon with them. It is a wonderful experience to be able to teach my children such important things that will give them guidance and hope throughout their lives. Last year at church, I helped each Sunday with the nursery children. All of the 1 1/2-3 year olds would be in my class for 2 hours, while the parents and siblings went to their designated classes. I taught the children about God, and his love for us. I also taught them about how God gave them their family so they could be happy. It was so wonderful being able to teach the children about their Heavenly Father, and his Son Jesus Christ, when they are so young, and their hearts are so open to learning new things. I am now helping the teenage girls work on personal goals that will help them improve spiritually. I help them set goals to study the Bible and the Book of Mormon, to serve their family and friends, and to find ways to increase their knowledge and talents. These young women are so eager to learn about God and I am grateful to be able to help them gain their own testimony of Christ and his love for us.
I also live my faith by striving to serve my neighbors and those in need, whether it is donating money or simply making a meal. I have many opportunities to serve!
