Hi, I'm Cindi
I'm a wife and a mother. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I'm a wife. I'm a mother. I'm trying to potty train a two-year-old and house train a puppy. I'm a photographer. I'm a blogger. I'm a reader.
Why I am a Mormon
My great great grandparents joined the church in Switzerland and emigrated to the United States. They settled in a beautiful valley in Wyoming and taught their children the gospel of Jesus Christ. My parents taught me of Christ as a child. We had regular scripture study, Family Home Evening and attended the church each Sunday. I knew that they had a strong testimony of the church and over the years my own testimony grew and strengthened.
I believe that Jesus Christ lives. I believe that President Monsen is a true prophet of God who leads this church. I believe that the Book of Mormon is the word of God.
I do not doubt it and I try each day to teach my children the gospel. Even though they are small, my husband and I work to have daily scripture study, weekly Family Home Evening and attend our church meetings each week.
Personal Stories
What are you doing to help strengthen your family and make it successful?
We try to give our children a lot of our time and attention. We play games together and spend a lot of time together in our backyard. We eat dinner together as a family nearly every evening. We read the scriptures (just a few verses for their short attention spans) and pray together each night before bed. Once a week, we have a special evening where we do something fun or have a gospel lesson. We attend our church meetings each Sunday. It's a lot of work but it's also fun and my husband and I love our family so much.
How I live my faith
I'm trying to be the best person I can be. Sometimes I fail but I know that through the atonement of Jesus Christ, I can repent and try again.
I am surrounded by small children every day. I have five young children and it is my responsibility to teach them and guide them--to raise them to be good citizens, productive and responsible. I am trying to teach them the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am trying to teach them to love and serve others.
Each Sunday, my husband and I work in the nursery at church. We spend two hours with the littlest children (between 18 months and 2 years) so that their parents can attend the other classes. There are twelve little children in our class. We love them. We sing with them. We teach them that they are children of our Heavenly Father and that he loves them. We hug them when they are sad. Serving the little children is one of the greatest opportunities in the church. I am constantly reminded of the words of our Savior Jesus Christ: " Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not:for of such is the kingdom of God (Luke 18:16)."
