Mary Rebecca: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Mary Rebecca

I'm a Mormon and for that reason I'm full of hope, gratitude and joy!

About Me

I'm a wife, daughter, twin sister, mother of one, step-mother of 6, mother-in-law of 5 and grandmother of 16. I work full time as a Parish Administrator. I spend every spare minute I have working on my family history. I serve as a Family History Consultant in our Ward as well as Secretary of our Relief Society.

Why I am a Mormon

I became a Mormon 15 years ago because it gave me great peace to know where I came from, why I'm here on earth and where I'll be when I leave this earth through death. I love knowing of the whole Plan of Salvation, knowing where my deceased relatives are and that I'll be reunited with them through all eternity. I've always believed that Jesus is the Christ, that He loves me and that He knows everything I'm doing, all I need and will provide for me as long as I put him first in my life. That brings me great comfort in a world that presents challenges daily.

Personal Stories

How has the Holy Ghost helped you?

The Holy Ghost/Spirit has become very real to me since I've learned more about him as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I really do feel l his daily inspiration, guidance, comfort, support, direction and uplifting. My moods are more steady, even, and positive because I actually FEEL his strength, his love and his calming spirit. I feel that I'm not alone, that I have a constant Guide, that he approves of me and loves me and will do the best with me. That keeps me from getting depressed or feeling hopeless when life gets tough.

In what ways have your prayers been answered?

My prayers went to our Heavenly Father 2 years ago for a return to good health for my Father as he was having health issues that were life-threatening. After months of hospitalization, he has returned to very good health, despite his advanced age. As he's been restored to health, he's had time to hear of the Restored Gospel as taught by the Missionaries in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He's become a member of the Church and he's so happy that he now has a more full understanding of the REALITY of Jesus Christ and of the REALITY of the Holy Ghost in his dialy life, in addition to his firm belief in God. Our prayers wereandswered so Dad had time yet in this life to hear of the restored gospel on this earth. He believes it was truly answer to prayer.

How has your knowledge of the Plan of Happiness changed/benefited your life?

Before I joined the Church, I was fearful most of the time. I felt I would never be good enough for God's saving grace, for eternal life. But as I learned that Jesus Christ is REAL and how much he loves me, I've come to know I'll be with him for eternity. I know that he pays attention to me every moment and has a firm plan for my life. I know that He'll be with me no matter what. I know that He loves us so much that he continues to advise, prompt, inspire, guide and direct us today through our living Prophet and others in authority who are called to be his servants.

How I live my faith

I live an honest life and try to stay optimistic and positive. Being conscious of all I'm grateful for helps me to stay happy and thankful for my many blessings. I spend time weekly helping my elderly father and that service keeps my heart full of joy.
