I have a wonderful family with a beautiful wife and 4 children. We like to spend time together playing and enjoying the outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

Although raised as a Mormon, it is not because of tradition that I am one today. I am a Mormon because of the peace, direction, and truth that is brings to my life. It is holds all the answers in how to have a joyful life and keep your family together forever. It teaches me how to repent and become a better person despite my shortcomings.

How I live my faith

I have served in various callings within the church and currently teach the 12 year old kids in Sunday school. I enjoy teaching the youth the gospel and seeing their eyes light up with understanding.

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

I think this is do to mis-understanding. Those that have come to know the doctrines of the church or associate with Mormons come to understand that we may be different in some ways, such as not drinking alcohol, etc., but that we are in many ways similar. Show more Show less

Perhaps because they see how close-knit we are as a community, and it can be somewhat hard to understand this support network if you have never been part of something quite like it. Sometimes we hear that some others may perceive or presume that members are 'brainwashed' with information and forced to conform to some standard. To those I would say that is exactly the opposite of what actually occurs under the Gospel of Jesus Christ. You see, Satan's way is to force people to conform. Study the life of Christ and you'll understand that He never forces, but instead always invites. Freedom to choose is something that we believe is one of God's greatest gifts to mankind, and is fundamental to our faith. All people (Church member or not) are always free to choose what to believe and how to act (we call this agency) and are encouraged to seek understanding of the reasons for any invitation that Christ or the living Prophet extends to them. Jesus Christ is an example of perfection in all ways. His way of loving even those who tortured him and put him to death shows us that sometimes it takes monumental effort on or part to make a relationship work. Knowing that we sin every day and cause him a portion of the terrible pain he suffered in the garden, and that he forgives us as soon as we ask him to and loves us unconditionally, how can we turn around and not forgive our fellow man for a simple mistake. Just knowing that Jesus Christ existed helps me to believe I can be better, and know that I will be better if I ask him for help.. Show more Show less
