Susan: librarian, mother, eight children, book club, geneology, politics, Mormon.

Hi, I'm Susan

I'm interested in History and Politics. I love to read and talk about books. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a part time children's librarian and a full time mom. I love to be with my family. One of my favorite activities is being in the same with room with my children and hearing them tell stories and laugh. Another favorite past time is watching my children play sports! I love to read and enjoy meeting once a month with my book club. I also love genealogy! I keep busy helping with my children's schools. I am also interested in politics. I love to see so many more people speaking up about their political feelings!

Why I am a Mormon

I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Say Saints because I know in my heart that Thomas Monson is a prophet of God. As a young teenager I prayed about the Book of Mormon and and received a warm feeling in my heart and soul that it is a book from God. It has been translated from an ancient record to help us in our times. The Lord didn't just speak to men in the bible. He loves all his children and spoke to those who lived in ancient America. They wrote it down and that gives us the Book of Mormon. Just like today, God speaks to a prophet who leads and guides us in our troubled world. I know that when the power of God was lost in the centuries after Christ died, it had to be restored to the earth and that restoration came through the Prophet Joseph Smith. God's power is again on earth to perform miracles and perform saving ordinances such as baptism with proper authority.

Personal Stories

Which of the Savior’s teachings have influenced you in your life?

The savior's teaching to love everyone helps me to reach out to all the children at my school. It helps me have more compassion for the lives they live.

How I live my faith

I serve my church by working with the youth. Right now I am helping train teachers and leaders to work with youth. I also help plan a week long camp for Young women ages 12-18. I love it. The teenagers are so energizing. I also have some women who I am responsible to visit each month and see how they are doing. If they need help or are just a listening ear, I can be there for them.
