Jessica : Mormon.

Hi, I'm Jessica

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Utah, raised in Oregon, and now live in Georgia. I am the mother of five lovely daughters and the wife of one dashing man. I graduated from college and use the skills I developed earning my degree as I raise my family. I love to read, crochet, sew, and waterski. I wish I loved to exercise.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a 7th generation member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. But I am a Mormon because I believe that it is the restoration of Christ's church on the earth today. I have read the Book of Mormon and received a witness that it is true. I have lived my life according to the principles taught by the living prophets and seen the wisdom of their teachings.

I am a Mormon because the gospel makes me happy and gives me hope and direction.

Personal Stories

How has your knowledge of the Plan of Happiness changed/benefited your life?

The Lord's Plan of Happiness gives my life purpose and direction. I know that I will be accountable for my choices and that I can repent when I make mistakes. The Plan of Happiness also helps me focus my energy on things that are most important-- my testimony, talents, and relationships. Knowing that families are central to our Father's plan also helped me know that I wanted to be a mother and that I wanted to devlote my time and talents to nurturing and raising a family.

Can you think of a specific challenge in your family that Gospel Principles helped overcome?

I am always drawn to the "ideal" and sometimes struggle when my ideals are not met. But the gospel has taught me that in this life we are required to walk by faith. We are given challenges for a purpose, and so long as we strive to live according to Christ's teachings, all our challenges will ultimately be for our good.

How I live my faith

My faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ is at the core of who I am. And the principles Christ taught are the principles that guide my life. I seek direction from the Lord through daily prayer and gospel study. I try to treat everyone with love, kindness, compassion, and forgiveness. Service is an essential part of my life.

Within our church organization I am in charge of the classes and activities for the children ages 18 months-11 years. It is a challenging and immensely rewarding job. I have opportunities to teach the children about the gospel and to help them feel the love of the Savior.
