Hi, I'm Matthew
,and I'm a Mormon.
About Me
Raised in southern California, and from a Mormon family through and through. . . .Yup I'm a Mormon. I love being active via out-door recreational stuff like hunting, fishing, sports games, etc. My wife teaches music at a local middle school, and I kill time working and taking classes at a local college. We currently have no children. We also, "well mainly my wife" do theater performance with a local non-profit theater company. My faith has and is becoming more and more important as I mature through life. I strive to love the Savior with all my heart, and I find great peace in living his gospel.
Why I am a Mormon
I tried to reject my faith once and to say the least it didn't work out well. As I found my way back, I picked up The Book of Mormon Another Testament of Jesus Christ, and read it for the first time at age 18. Sure I had read it here and there with my family and in church meetings, but this time was different. I was a man on a mission. I read the Book of Mormon everyday, sometimes for hours, I couldn't put it down. It's message of Jesus Christ told through the lives of the people in the Book of Mormon consumed my mind. In time I felt spiritually changed, and even physically. Since then I have fallen in love with the Holy Bible and Book of Mormon. To say it simply I was converted, or born again as Jesus called it. My faith in Jesus Christ and my testimony of His Latter-day Church was something which had no meaning for me until I worked at discovering it for myself. I received my witness from the spirit individually and it stands firmly independent with me. Now it is my testimony and I consider it a priceless gift from God. It took some wrestling with the Lord in prayer and studying in His word, but now I can say my life has been enriched for it. . . .that is why I am a Mormon.
Personal Stories
Please share your feelings/testimony of Joseph Smith.
There have been many great prophets of God through out time. For me Joseph Smith is a modern day Moses. His life, and teachings are inspiring. His sacrifices for the kingdom of God are equal to if not greater than any prophet of God has endured in times past. God has revealed a few things to me in which he left me with no doubt. That Joseph Smith was a prophet of God is one of them.
How I live my faith
Each new day brings challenges including physical, emotional, financial, and moral challenges, sometimes small and sometimes great. The types of challenges we face in the course of a day or week or year vary, and they could go on and on. I live my faith by striving to be consistently in-tune with the Lord, and then facing those challenges in a way that would be acceptable to Him. In so doing I've found a lot of peace and things always seem to work out. Its when I don't that I find myself struggling the most. And I can't over state the need to serve my fellow brothers and sisters whoever, wherever, however.

Joseph Smith
As is the case throughout history God has communicated to His children through prophets. God used a humble man as a prophet to restore His Church on earth who ultimately died defending His faith.
