Hi, I'm Bill Leveque
I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, a predominately Scandinavian/ Finnish populated region. As a youth I never attended church. When I was 18, I became interested in Religion, and learned of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints after graduating from High School. I married an LDS girl who was just finishing up college at MSU in East Lansing.
Why I am a Mormon
I became a Mormon after intense questioning of the doctrines of the church. A pair of sister missionaries knocked on my door, I was just out of High School and was living in the Lansing Michigan Area. The Church appealed to my lifestyle, and now at 50 years old, I have been a member for 30 years. I look back over the years to all fond memories of my friendships acquired in the Mormon church. It has shaped my life, and is a refuge for me from the winds of the adversary.
Personal Stories
In what ways have your prayers been answered?
I keep a constant prayer in my thoughts and heart as I live my daily life. This allows me to accomplish things that would otherwise not be in my ability to understand or do. The answers come in many different ways, but always help me to gain a greater understanding of my purpose on Earth.
How I live my faith
My first calling of home teacher was a testimony of dedication. My Companion, Brother Haag taught me the value of consistency and love for others through service. I have served as a teacher in the Sunday School, Teen and Youth classes. I lead the Sunday School as President, served the Church as the Men's group President and shepherded a small church of Saints in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan as its President. Some of my fondest memories were created while serving as counselor in a Church Presidency. My most comfortable positions were Church Clerk, Computer Specialist, High Counselor traveling around the Upper Peninsula. I currently serve as a 2nd Counselor in the Bishopric.
