Karen Leihua W.: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Karen Leihua W.

I am a single female, who loves to dance, works hard and am a graduate student of a 2nd masters. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I enjoy dancing, cooking and long walks. I have a dog that I put first over myself sometimes. I've had exchange students in my home from all over the world and just love it. I am a single female who enjoys the activities that are provided where I can meet others who are going through similar experiences. I am currently working on a 2nd masters degree and just love it.

I love zoos, parks, and oceans. I've scuba dived before and last year the Dr thought that I had cancer. I've been blessed to not have it but rather Iron Deficiency Anemia (terrible case of it).

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I learned for myself 17 years ago that I am a daughter of a loving Heavenly Father who knows me personally, who wants me to be happy and wants me to return to live with him when this mortal life ends. I love the Book of Mormon. I read it every day and even those days that aren't going well for me, I remember what I read that morning and I somehow feel at peace that everything is going to be fine. I've learned that my Savior, Jesus Christ is the only one that is going to be there for me when life gets hard and I want to give up and when life is awesome and things are going well. I know that Jesus Christ lives and that not only did he die for me but that he rose for me as well so that one day I can be with our Father in Heaven. I'm far from perfect but I strive every day to make choices to help me get to that point and the only way to do it is through my Savior.

Personal Stories

What are you doing to help strengthen your family and make it successful?

What we do to strengthen our family is family prayer, family home evening (no TV, no distractions and all lesson and play), church attendance to partake of the sacrament, temple attendance so that we can feel closer to Heavenly Father (since that is his house).

How can we develop greater harmony in our homes?

We can develop greater harmony in our homes by setting the scene. Leaving the world at the front door. Leaving things that are not of this world outside so that the spirit is able to teach, edify and uplift all those that live there and visit. Harmony comes through reading the scriptures, saying personal and family prayer and living the commandments.

How has the Book of Mormon brought you closer to God?

The Book of Mormon has brought me closer to God because it helps teach me and remind me that I do have a wonderful Heavenly Father who loves me who prepared for the world a Savior, Jesus Christ and that through prophets and apostles in the Holy Land, he prepared prophets and apostles here in the Americas as well to teach the gospel so that everyone would be able to receive the blessings he has for us. I love the Book of Mormon. I read it every day. I don't understand everything yet the Holy Spirit testifies to me as I read that the sweet prophet Joseph Smith, Jr translated it, that Jesus Christ is real and he lives and that my Heavenly Father loves little ole' me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others and by leaning on Jesus Christ. I love to be involved with activities, helping with those that need my help in whatever capacity that I can. I love to help with the cannery so that others may have the food and basic needs to survive. I love to visit and have lunches with others to find out more about their talents and abilities so that one day I can learn from them and thank them endlessly for their help and love. I enjoy learning from others as their talents totally bless my life because I can't do what they do so Heavenly Father put them in my life for that purpose.
I love the single adults in my area and am very grateful for them and for their talents and energy. It helps me grow and love and be more compassionate with Gods children everywhere.
I teach primary, the children organization within the church and my sweet kids are 4-5 yr old, who are just hilarious and so awesome. I love them and they teach me every week something new and how to love, forgive and forget.
