Hi, I'm Sherrie
I grew up in a small town in Washington state. I teach 4th grade. I am a mother. I am a grandmother. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I am a mom with 3 beautiful step-daughters and 4 fun grandchildren. I am an elementary school teacher. I have taught for 23 years. I love reading children's fiction and finding new books to share with my students. I enjoy dabbling in photography. I love working in my flower garden and just watching things grow. I like being in nature and watching wildlife. I like to draw and do fabric painting.
Why I am a Mormon
I am a Mormon, because I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that it is a second witness of Jesus Christ to go hand and hand with the Holy Bible. I have prayed about these things and have had a witness by the Holy Ghost that they are true. I know that Christ set up a church when He was upon the earth and that He has not abandoned us in this time. The gospel is for all time, not just the time of Christ.
Personal Stories
Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?
Prayer plays an important role in my life. I try to say my personal prayers morning and evening and we always have family prayer. I usually have a prayer in my heart most of the day, especially when I am praying for a very special need. I know that Heavenly Father answers prayers, He is always watching out for me. I pray for safety always and there are many times when I know He has protected me from harm.
How I live my faith
I have an oppurtunity to work with the young women in my area. I get to help plan service projects, camps and fun activities for them to participate in. I have a calling as a visiting teacher. I am assigned a partner and she and I visit 3 women at least on a monthly basis, to give them a gospel message and see if they have any special needs that we might be able to help them with.
I have family prayer daily and try to read the scriptures on a daily basis. My husband and I try to be of service to our children and to our neighbors and community.

Joseph Smith
As is the case throughout history God has communicated to His children through prophets. God used a humble man as a prophet to restore His Church on earth who ultimately died defending His faith.
