I am a dad of three little girls. I like to play sports and to go hunting. I enjoy my family and spending time working or playing with them.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I am a better person because I am a Mormon. Because we have a modern day prophet, I don't have to wonder what God wants me to do. God tells me through the prophet. Because of a prophet, I know that my family can be together forever. I know because of a prophet where I came from, why I am here on earth and where I am going after I leave this earth. When my father died, I didn't need to wonder if I would see him again. I know that I will. I love the scriptures. I love to read about Jesus Christ. Of His birth, life, death, and resurrection. I also love the Book of Mormon because I get to read more of the teachings of Jesus. I never get tired of learning more about Jesus.

Please share your feelings/testimony of Joseph Smith.

I love the Prophet Joseph Smith. He is a prophet of God. He is someone that has seen and talked with God and Jesus. He can teach me what God wants me to do. Through Joseph Smith, God organized His Church, placed Apostle back on the earth, brought forth a law of health, and brought forth more of God's word. Joseph translated the Book of Mormon. I know where I came from, why I am here and where I am going.

How I live my faith

What I do at church is to tell people about our church and how it has helped me and my family.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Our Heavenly Father has a plan for us. We needed to come to earth so that we could be tested, to see if we would follow God's commands. Because God knew that we would make mistakes, He sent Jesus to be our savior. Because Jesus died for us all, we can repent of our sins and be able to return to live with our Heavenly Father.

Have you ever met a perfect person? I doubt it. Why? Because everyone makes mistakes. When you make a mistake or are confused on what you should do, you want someone to help you, right? We all need someone to help us. We all need a Savior. We always hear that Jesus Christ saved us, but what does that truly mean? It not only means that he suffered and died for you personally, it means that he lived and lives for us too. He wants to help us. Jesus Christ is the only one who underestands everything that we go through. He not only wants to make up for the mistakes we make, but he wants to carry our burdens too. All we need to do is let him carry our burdens. Everyone faces personal challenges and Jesus is there to help. Everyone makes a mistake qa some point in life too. The beauty of having a Savior, is the fact that we can be forgiven. Sometimes our hands get dirty, but they can always be washed clean.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

This question is my all time favorite "tough topic" to discuss. I want to start off right off the bat by saying that no matter what you've been told, or who has told you it, Mormons DO NOT "hate" gays and lesbians. Or ANYONE for any reason. Ever. As witnesses of Christ, we do our best to emulate Him and live as He would have us live. That's not to say that we're perfect, because we're not... but I do know that Christ never hated anyone.

Mormons believe in the sanctity of marriage. We believe that God has ordained marriage, and the sacred powers of procreation, to be between a man and a woman. Sexual relations are a sacred thing. We believe that they are to be reserved for marriage. This law, the law of chastity, applies to every spirit son and daughter of God. It doesn't matter if you are attracted to the opposite gender or your same gender, you are commanded to live a chaste and virtuous life. The neat thing about God is that He's "no respecter of persons". This means that God requires the same things of all of us. We are to remain chaste until marriage, and within marriage chastity means that you only have those sacred relations with your spouse.

As a church, we welcome all who want to draw near to Christ. We love everyone, regardless of circumstance, as Christ loves them. We maintain that every single man, woman, and child on this earth is a son or daughter of God, and we treat them accordingly.
