Why I am a Mormon

Yes, I was "born" into the church. Ask me why I stay a Mormon. Experiences through the years as a youth, missionary, spouse and parent have given testimony that this is the Church of Jesus Christ. It isn't just good times it also strength and assurance through rough times. My life and family have been protected, sustained and blessed through His Church. To be married in a modern temple for this life and the next because the priesthood is on the earth again restored through the prophet Joseph Smith brings comfort that I and my family have the ability to be a family forever. These blessings don't come automatically but can obtained through living the gospel. I know this not with my mind but through the spirit. It's worth the effort to investigate to seek after a testimony of the truthfulness of the restored gospel. You won't be sorry.

How I live my faith

As a pharmacist I provide vaccination services to the community. In my church I serve as a counselor to the ward leader (Bishop). I help with the youth and and single members of our congregation. I hometeach (visit) members to teach grow in friendship and provide service. I help in planing activites we have on a monthly basis.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Yes, a husband and wife can be together foever. We will be able to visit with and enjoy family ties through eternity. I can't tell you if we'll all be in the same house. Think of it more as family, neighbors, and friends. We will be able to see, talk, and enjoy being together for all eternity. I will get to know future great grand kids and also ancestors from long ago. We will have to be worthy by living the gospel. But it is possible.

YES!!! This is one of my favorite parts of the gospel. I believe that my family will live together in heaven. I will know my family as my family members. My husband is my husband for now and for all eternity. My children are my children here on earth and for all eternity. I know that if something happened to one of us that I will see them again. I love this about the church. Before joining, I always had a question about this concept and when taking the discussions from the missionaries this came up. Makes me love the church more and more.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

I personally enjoy The Bible as one of my favorite books. I know it is the word of The Lord. As I read the bible, I also tried to study where it came from. Before joining the church, I did believe that the bible was the word of God. But why? I believed in it before reading it... Well, the reason why I know, is because I ask God and He answered me. There is no other way. I wasn't there when it was translated, so how can I know? Some people just believe that it is true because everybody else says so. Heavenly Father can answer our prayers, why don't we ask Him?
