Hi, I'm Angela
I'm a mom. I'm a student. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I am the third of eight children. I am now married with two boys aged 4 and 1 year old. I served a mission for the church in Arizona, Phoenix, from 2004-2006. I love music, running, and being creative. I currently work as a homemaker and will soon be going back to get a college education. I believe in the goodness of others, and of God's love for each of his children.
Why I am a Mormon
I received a personal witness through the power of the Holy Ghost that this is Jesus Christ's church when I was fairly young. I have received many further confirmations of that same witness as I have been obedient to commandments and sought to live according to the teachings of the Savior and prophets. Some of the most regular and most simple validations of my testimony occur as follows. I feel happy when I try to act as Christ would act. I feel God's love for me when I pray sincerely. My family is more at peace and more loving when each of us are trying to act as the Savior has taught. We love one another and have assurance of being together forever through the witness of the Holy Ghost. Reading the Book of Mormon and other scriptures gives me peace and helps me find insights to the concerns and troubles I face daily. I have felt the spirit touch my heart when I have asked to know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. Having these witnesses has helped me have clarity and peace in a turbulent world.
Personal Stories
Which of the Savior’s teachings have influenced you in your life?
Recently I have been most influenced by the Gospel of Repentance. It is so important to cast my burdens on the Lord and allow my nature to be changed. When I repent I can feel clean, whole, and happy. When I repent I feel at peace with my life and things around me. When I repent I gain hope that I can be better and that I don't have to feel the terrible weights of guilt and sin upon my shoulders. Repentance is a healing, freeing, and cleansing principle for which I feel very grateful. I feel humbled and blessed that the Savior would sacrifice himself for my happiness and peace. I love him for it. I am happy because of it.
How I live my faith
I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have the great opportunity to serve with girls ages 12-18. They have so much to share and so much to learn. : ) It is so rewarding to watch each girl establish or grow her own testimony of Christ and to realize that her worth does not change based on appearance, fashion, or outward abilities. I love to see my beautiful young women rise above the foul and salacious conduct emphasized in media and world teachings today. It is a blessing and pleasure to help instruct them how to be virtuous, feminine, courageous, and strong regardless of what happens around them. I learn much from this opportunity.
