Heather Feather: mother, seamstress, sew, blogger, wife, student family, Mormon.

Hi, I'm Heather Feather

I love sewing. I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm married to my sweetheart and best friend. He supports me in all that I do. I'm currently going to school for a Major in Home and Family Living with a clothing construction focus. I love to sew everything and make my clothing modest. Because of my major, I get to sew all the time while getting classes about family. Family is the most important thing to me, and I love knowing that because I'm a Mormon, I get to be with my family forever.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the hope and joy it brings into my life. Joy is to be with my family, and I have faith that I can be together with my family forever. This is possible because of Jesus Christ. He gave his life for me, for everyone, so that we all can return to live with Him. His sealing power has bound me to my husband and family, so that when we die we will be together again. I have felt His overwhelming, life-changing love for me. I am constantly amazed at His sacrifice and love for me. He has brought be up out of the hardest times of my life and shown me love, so I have hope for another, better day.

Personal Stories

How can your talents and gifts bless others?

A wonderful, creative neighbor inspired me when I was young that fashionable clothing can be modest but not frumpy. Modesty is important to me because it gives me confidence that people are looking at me and not just my body. It also gives me great self-esteem. I know that modesty can help the self-esteem of women and girls. I want to inspire others on how to be creative, fashionable, and modest.

What are you doing to help strengthen your family and make it successful?

I pray every night to Heavenly Father thanking Him for what I have and asking to know His will. While I am praying, my husband also prays kneeling next to me. Then we pray together. I feel this has strengthened my marriage immensely and has helped us through hard times. It's amazing to see either of us open up to God when we might not have opened up to each other. It keeps us humble and thinking of the other.

How I live my faith

A wonderful, creative neighbor inspired me when I was young that fashionable clothing can be modest but not frumpy. Modesty is important to me because it gives me confidence that people are looking at me and not just my body. It gives me true self-esteem. I know that modesty can help the self-esteem of women and girls. I want to inspire others on how to be creative, fashionable, and modest.
Besides dressing modestly, I love being a wife and hope to one day be a mother. I also love being involved with the women in my ward. I know that women can be a great force for good. Whenever I'm with them, I feel their goodness rubbing off on me.
