Hi, I'm Ken Konecki
I'm a husband, I'm a father, I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I am a convert of the church of about 20 years. I learned of the church when I met my wife who was raised Mormon. I have two boys who are growing too fast. I work two jobs so that my wife can stay home and raise our children. I work as a forklift driver at a production plant, and I own my own web design business.
For fun, I ride my motorcycle, hang out with the family, read, take naps, and watch movies and write. not in that order
Why I am a Mormon
I was not searching for a religion when I found the Church, I was searching for a better way to live. I met my wife when I was trying to clean up my early life of parties and carelessness. I prayed to God to help me meet a "Good Woman" to help me get out of my circle of destruction. After countless attempts and praying, I met my wife.
We fell in love.
For a year I researched that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and felt like it might be true. It was when my heart was touched by a missionary that I allowed myself to truly hear the gospel and accept it as true.

What blessings have come through your faith in Jesus Christ?

How has the Book of Mormon brought you closer to God?
The Book of Mormon proves to me that God talked and talks to other people in the world. Being raised with just the Bible, I knew it was true in my heart, but I felt something was missing. I was also confused why God only talked to one area of the world through Prophets. I get closer to God by knowing that he wants everyone to hear his Gospel, and he wants everyone to return to Him, no matter where you live.
In what ways have your prayers been answered?
It seems, I am always praying about something. :) Sometimes it is for me, or sometimes it is for the benefit of others. I receive answers to these prayers by experiencing those things for which I prayed for come to pass.
For example, I like to share the Gospel with people. Sometimes I notice that many days or even weeks have gone by that I have not been able to talk to someone about the Gospel. When I make this discovery and desire to spread the Gospel, I pray, in faith, (faith is the important part) that "I might be given the opportunity to share the Gospel". This prayer has always been answered in ways that I have no control over. Sometimes within minutes, or hours, I have friends, family, or strangers, come to me and ask me a question about the Gospel, or bring up the Church in a discussion! Now that is some cool stuff!! :)
It is my own way of knowing that Heavenly Father always answers our prayers.
What have you done successfully to shield your family from unwanted influences?
As a family, we discuss everything. Before a decision is made that effects everyone, we all gather together and talk about our concerns and reasons why we feel positively or negatively on the given subject. In addition, we pray as a family together and only move forward or away from a decision when everyone is in agreement.
Why/How do you share the gospel with your friends?
I share the gospel when it feels right to do so. I do not believe in scripts and setting up scenarios to discuss religion. I try to live my religion as much as possible, so in common conversation my Church comes up from time to time. It is natural and I let it flow when the time is right.
How I live my faith
One of my jobs requires that I work half the Sundays each year, so when I do have Sundays off, I make sure I go to church and fellowship with people who I might not have seen for a month.
My oldest son and I home teach a great family. I also serve as a secretary (keeping calendar dates and stuff) for our young mens program for kids 12 years old to 17 years old. Its nice to work in the young men's program because my two boys are involved, so when I am serving others, I am also spending time with my boys.
