Jennifer Lynnette: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Jennifer Lynnette

I seek to be "firm, and steadfast, and immovable, willing with all diligence to keep the commandments of the Lord." (3 Nephi 6:14)

About Me

My husband and I were married civilly, and then Sealed for time and all eternity in the Seattle Temple in two years later. We are proud parents to two wonderful children, born in the covenant.

Although I have endured Non-Epileptic Seizures for the last 10 years that have changed the way I contribute to society, I don't let them slow me down. I see the trial as a kind of blessing in that I have the opportunity to stay home with my children. I am a Trained Paralegal (Associate Degree). My husband and I proudly homeschool. We are beginning a garden as a family this year. I am a vocal Non-Epileptic Seizure Awareness Advocate. In addition to that, I also started and co-administrate "An EDD is an Estimated Due Date, Not an Expiration Date" on Facebook where I am a Women's and Children's Interests Advocate. Also, I work when I can as a Freelance Knitting and Crochet Instructor and Yarn Artist, selling my work to raise money when needed.

I felt a personal call to begin headcovering after praying about it in 2011 for months. For me it is a reminder to live simply, as Christ did. I try to find time for private study and meditation daily.

Why I am a Mormon

I was "born into the Church", but I believe every Mormon is a convert. I was raised by an inactive part-member family. After researching many religions I came to believe that The LDS church is right. I have a strong testimony of the gospel. I love attending the Temple when I can.

I love President Uchtdorf's statement that: "We are a question-asking people. We have always been, because we know that inquiry leads to truth. That is how the Church got its start, from a young man who had questions. In fact, I’m not sure how one can discover truth without asking questions. Some might feel embarrassed or unworthy because they have searching questions regarding the gospel, but they needn’t feel that way. Asking questions isn’t a sign of weakness. It’s a precursor of growth."

I feel that searching, pondering, and praying an living so that I can feel the Holy Ghost with me (Moroni 10:3-5) has led me to personal revelation that has enhanced the closeness I feel with my Savior.

I cannot express in words how much this church and the gospel of Christ mean to me. Because of them, I know WHO I am, WHY I am here, and WHERE I can go if I endure to the end.

What have you done successfully to shield your family from unwanted influences?

We say prayer every night as a family. It has helped us to strengthen our armor against the world's influences.

How I live my faith

The First Presidency has said in many ways that motherhood is "near to divinity. It is the highest, holiest service to be assumed by mankind. It places her who honors its holy calling and service next to the angels.” I live my faith by trying to be the best mother I can be!
