Hi, I'm Kimberly N.
I'm a wife, mom, community volunteer, friend, and Christian. I am a Mormon.
About Me
I have been married for almost 20 years to a wonderful man and we have 6 children--3 boys and 3 girls. We live in Washington State and enjoy the simple things in life like family dinners, game or movie nights, milkshakes, boating and camping, and attending church. I love being involved in the PTA, Little League, Community Education programs, and adult religion classes. If I get an extra minute or two, aside from taking care of my family, I enjoy scrapbooking, reading a good book and keeping in touch with friends on Facebook!
Why I am a Mormon
Through so many experiences throughout my life--some big and some simple and small--I have come to know for myself without any doubt that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that Joseph Smith was a true and living prophet who was called by the Lord to restore His church back to the earth. I know this and cannot deny it. I also know that our current prophet and apostles are indeed spokesmen for the Lord, just as Moses, Isaiah, Peter and John were in ancient days. The gospel in it's entire fullness is here and I have so much peace and joy in my life because of what I know and what I feel as I live it to the best of my ability. I know that our Heavenly Father and his Son, Jesus Christ, direct the affairs of this church, that they are all powerful and all knowing but that they know me and love me individually and long to help me in every way. I love them and want to do anything I can to keep their spirit with me.
Personal Stories
How has the Book of Mormon brought you closer to God?
I have read the Book of Mormon many times, studied it and prayed about it. As I read it, it just seems so right. The many prophets who have written in it teach and testify of Jesus Christ and his role as our redeemer. They teach us to do good and right things. As I read their testimonies, I know that they lived and that they were prophets and men of God in their day. I have had their words come into my mind during difficult times in my life and they have given me such strength. I have felt God's love for me when I read the Book of Mormon and know that He knows me personally. He has given us the Book of Mormon as a beautiful gift to help us more on our journey here on earth. I thank Him daily for the blessing of the Book of Mormon in my life.
How I live my faith
As a Christian, I strive each day, in every decision I make or in every interaction with another human being, to act the way the Savior would act--to be his disciple in every way. There are so many good people in the world and as we treat each other with kindness and respect, with a simple smile or words of praise or gratitude, life can be so much more wonderful. When I make a mistake, I know I can repent and be forgiven--through the atonement of Jesus Christ and this hope helps me to continue striving to be do what's right without giving up on myself. My faith is what makes me happy.
