Tracy Elizabeth: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Tracy Elizabeth

I'm a mom, wife, teacher; I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom, wife, teacher, daughter, martial artist, knitter, climber, reader, gardener, traveler--just trying to squeeze everything in.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love truth. I love being a part of His church where all truth is welcome and has a home. Christ is light and truth, and he welcomes all truth. I certainly don't know everything, and I have a lot of questions. But with patience, faith, and inspiration that comes from being a member of His church, I hope to find the answers.

Personal Stories

Can you talk about the missions of the Church and your participation in them?

I think one of the foremost missions of the church is to help everyone recognize that God is our Father, and as such will be actively engaged in our lives if we let him. I first knew that God listened and answered prayers when I was about 5. My dad was in the Navy and deployed. My mom and I were going somewhere in a terrible rain storm in San Diego, and the car died as we were sitting in the left turn lane. My mom had no idea what to do, and I suggested we say a prayer. She agreed, and we said a quick prayer that we would be safe and the care would work. She tired the ignition again, and the car started. We were able to get out of the road and drive to a garage to have someone look at the car. When the mechanic looked at the car, I remember him arguing with my mother, saying some part was so damaged there was no way that the car would have started agin, and he wanted to know how we had really got the car to the garage. Since then, i have known that Heavenly Father is mindful of me and my needs. Not every prayer has been answered when or how I would like, but they are answered if I take the time to look and realize His Hand. I wonder if the more dramatic answers come because I am ready to see them and to recognize it as God's power? I think the role of the church is to spread the message that God is real and he loves all of us. When we realize this, I hope we would follow His example, and be more like Him, taking care of those around us.

How I live my faith

I pray a lot. I read the scriptures. I work with teenagers--that takes a ton of faith. I think, read, participate, and try to make sense of the world. I find I can only do this through my faith.
