Hi, I'm D. Gross
I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I grew up in California in the 60's but I didn't feel right about going along with the crowd. I was searching for answers about life. This Church answered all my questions and the answers felt right. Now I've been married for 31 years and have 3 kids, now all grown, and 2 granddaughters. Having a family that's continuously growing is a real blessing.
Why I am a Mormon
When I was growing up I wondered about why people are here on earth. Other churches I attended had some of the answers but not all of them. Other members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has been like an extended family for me.
Personal Stories
How has the Book of Mormon brought you closer to God?
When I was 17 I visited my Dad and, being part Native American, he asked me if I knew where they came from. I was taught in school that they came across the Bering Strait into North America. He gave me a Book of Mormon and as I began to read it, the Spirit whispered to me that it was a true account of the ancient American Indians, and that they came from Jerusalem to the New World by boat. The Book of Mormon also tells of the visit of the Savior to those Native Americans between his crucifixion and ascension.
How I live my faith
Having a church calling is one of the things that keeps me actively participating in the church. I love the interaction with other members I see each week. My calling is a ward family history consultant. I've been researching my own family history for 29 years and I love helping others with their research. I've even linked my family tree with the family tree of other members several times over the years.
