Ginney: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Ginney

I grew up in Texas. I love being a mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am Mom to six children ages 1-12. I finished my computer science degree right before my first child was born. I enjoy putting it to good use teaching my children. My husband and I love to read and play games. We are just starting to learn how to camp with our big family!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon all my life. Around the age of 14, I began to want to know for myself if what I'd been taught was true. I read from the Doctrine and Covenants for a scripture study class. I remember praying and having such a good feeling and confirmation that I was doing what was right and that what I was reading was from God. I have prayed many times with questions and my faith and knowledge have increased over and over. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. I am so grateful that even though we are not perfect, He has given us a way to return to our Father in Heaven through repentance. Knowing that has blessed my life and given me hope. He helps me to be a better mother and to pull through the hardest times without fail. That is why I am a Mormon.

Personal Stories

Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?

Our family prays together every morning and night and over meals. Personally, I turn to the Lord many times a day. I have prayed to Him in thanksgiving for blessings He gives. I pray when I need guidance for big choices. I pray for strength, and courage. I pray for help to find things I've lost. It's such a simple thing, but the way He has answered my prayers to help me find little things like shoes, a belt, or keys helps me to know that He is always looking out for us and willing to help us in our lives. It has made me feel like I have a more personal relationship with Him and know that He loves me.

How I live my faith

I teach my children about Jesus Christ and how much their Heavenly Father loves them. I serve in the church by helping to coordinate organized visits to all the women members in the area. This helps us find ways to help each other and become friends.
