I'm a relatively new Mormon.

About Me

Hi, i am a single parent, to a moody teenager.
I am an Accounts Assistant for a BIG company in the UK.
I spend all my spare time either at the cinema, or at a gig as i love music and films very much, but if i am at home i have started making cards, my teenager thinks it is old ladyish, but i don't mind i find it theraputic.
My favorite type of music is punk metal, but i have been enjoying some strange music recently as in Vampire Weekend, or Pablo Nutini.
My favorite genre for TV and films is Science Fiction, i love space the most so Stargate is a firm favorite.

Why I am a Mormon

Because, i love my Heavenly Father, and i love Jesus Christ.

I have been a member since August 2008 and it is the best thing i have ever done in my life, it has given me purpose and direction and i thank God every day that he brought the missionaries into my life.

Personal Stories

What blessings have come through your faith in Jesus Christ?

the first blessing is the fact that before i joined the Church, i smoked 30 a day and had been trying to quit without success for nearly 20 years. With the help of the Word of Wisdom, i gave up smoking within two weeks and have never looked back.

How I live my faith

Well, i am a visiting teacher, which is where two sisters will go out to visit other sisters to fellowship and make sure they are happy in their lives, and every month two wonderful sisters will do the same for me, and come and make sure i am happy.

I am the secretary for the womens; group, and i create flyers and notices to let the other sisters what wonderful and exciting things are coming up the next few weeks.

I am also the Stake Single Adults Representative, a stake is a group of six chapels that are linked together for ease of communication, and i help bring the 30+ single members together in our area. This means i help arrange get togethers and outings and just generally making sure that our members are safe and happy.

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

If you read the Bible does it not show that when one of the 12 Apostles passed away he was replaced by another. This was meant to continue through the ages but because of the destruction of the foundation of Jesus' Church this law was lost.

On the last days 12 Apostles will stand for the 12 Tribes of Israel, and this is why they needed to be restored on this Earth.

When Jesus Christ was on the Earth, He established an organization of prophets, apostles, teachers, and other leaders to lead and guide the members of His church (the body of Christ, as it is referred to in the New Testament). When Judas died, and Jesus had left the Earth, the first order of business for the other 11 apostles was to fill the vacancy. They did so by praying and seeking out revelation. They eventually decided on Matthias. This example shows us that apostles were not only to be used for when Christ was on the Earth, but that God wanted Apostles to lead His children at all times. Unfortunately, apostasy stirred within the early church, and the apostles were killed one by one. The world was left without Priesthood leadership, until the time of the Restoration, when this same authority was given to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery from the very same Peter, James and John (as resurrected beings). The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints has 12 apostles, just like in New Testament times. These special witnesses of Christ bear solemn witness that Jesus is the Christ. They help the Prophet and President of the Church to share the Gospel message to the four corners of the Earth.
