Anna: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Anna

I'm a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and LOVE it!!!

About Me

I have been married for 12 years and have 6 kids. As a stay at home mom I love learning with my kids at home and study right alongside them.

I love to play the piano, read historical novels, play sports, and spend time with my immediate family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and am grateful that my parents and leaders encouraged me to find out and receive my own personal testimony. Faced with experiences as a youth and young adult where I needed to think about what I truly believed I much spent time on my knees. I'm so glad I took the advice of others so I can truly say that God lives. The witnesses of God's love through out my life has been strengthened through each challenging experience. I've not always understood why I have certain trials, but the older I get the more I feel God's hand in my life and have proven over and over to myself that if I strive to make choices and accept God's will I will receive blessings beyond anything I can comprehend.

Personal Stories

How can we develop greater harmony in our homes?

Unconditional Love!!! With all the noise in our world today I find that the more we keep the love through the Spirit of God in our personal lives we will be able to share that with our spouses, children, and those around us. To feel God's love I dedicate my early mornings to scripture study, prayer, and meditation. By getting up earlier in the mornings and preparing myself to see my husband and children I can then choose to be happy, pray for extra strength when I don't feel good either spiritually or physically, and try to create spiritually in my mind what my day will look like.

Once I'm prepared it's a lot easier to prepare my children for their day by starting with a simple family devotional. We use music, prayer, reading God's word, and discussing real life issues that are going on in their lives. Praying together is powerful! God's love is always present when we carefully prepare.

Since I haven't always followed this pattern I've seen a huge difference in my family's life when we do!!!

Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?

I pray all the time!!! I'll never forget my teenage years when I needed to know that God was there. As I felt of His love an overwhelming sense of wanting to choose the right was there. I felt that I was truly a Daughter of God. Since then I use prayer for various reasons. My husband, children, and I love to say gratitude prayers for anything we see: Grandmother who passes away peacefully after a difficult illness, child who overcomes sickness, protection for our home, service that was given to us, service WE could perform as a family, etc.

We also use prayer over our family meals, to invite the spirit before we start our daily devotional, to help us learn what He will in our studies, and any other personal desires we have.

I love the fact that we can try to align our will with that of Heavenly Father's and pray for understanding in all situations.

How I live my faith

I get to accompany the Ward Choir right now! I love hearing the great music and participating in the performances. There are times when I'm asked to accompany the children when they sing on Sundays and that's an uplifting experience!

It's fun to get together for our monthly Women's activities. I'm amazed at the education, encouragement, friendships, and inspiration I receive from attending what I can. As a busy mom I try to make sure I get to these events. I love how everyone's welcome!
