Hi, I'm Hong Min
Malaysian. I love my family. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I'm currently working as Special Needs School Teacher. It's a blessing to me to be able to work, learn and grow together with many beautiful souls who are so pure and loving. Serving as a morning seminary teacher, I start to realize the role of scriptures in my life. I love the scriptures and the words of the prophets. They are leading and guiding me in to live a righteous life so that I can live with Him again one day.
Why I am a Mormon
After my grandma passed away in year 2004. I started to search for answers for questions for life after death, as well as purposes of life. I was wandering and I met the missionaries. They taught me about the restoration of the gospel as well as The Plan of Salvation.
As I want to know if I can see my grandma again, I read, search and ponder about the messages in Book of Mormon. I join their activities and worship. Of course I need to pray and ask if these things are true. I did and I was baptized 4 months after meeting the missionaries.
Personal Stories
Could you talk about your baptism?
28 August 2004. It was a special evening for me as it marked a new start of my life. I still can remember the moment I was lifted out of the water of baptism, I felt so clean and afresh as I know I was borned again! I know wemust follow the savior Jesus Christ and be baptised. I thank heavenly father to introduce to me two of my brothers that taught me this retored gospel. I'm glad to be able to make this baptism covenant with God and be given the gift og Holy Ghost to lead and guide me in this life.
Why do Mormons go on missions?
We know we are parts of Heavenly Father's plan to "bring to pass immortality and eternal life". We (as his children) have responsibility to help Him to carry this great message of the restoration to all human being around the world. This is because we all are brothers and sisters.
How I live my faith
I wake up at 4:00 am every weekday to get ready to teach the early morning seminary to 9 wonderful students. It was a great challenge to me at the beginning of the semester but I see the blessings of it now. I'm glad that I can have the opportunity to re-read Book of Mormon again IN-DETAIL that I'm able to teach the lessons to the youth.
Many of my friends cannot understand why I have to give out so much to my religion (e.g. get on bed around 9:00pm). Prophet Joseph Smith gave the answer “a religion that does not require the sacrifice of all things never has power sufficient to produce the faith necessary unto life and salvation”.
I know every members of The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints knew the end product of these small sacrifices is peace, joy in this life, and eternal happiness that awaits us in life after this.
