About Me

I recently took a huge leap and Moved my family across country to go to school. About 1300 miles away from my parents and siblings.
To move so far away from where I was born and raised has been an exciting one, and I sure hope I made the right decision lol.
I hope to Graduate in 2015 with a BA in Mass Marketing Communications.
I served a mission for my LDS faith for 2 years to Iowa...... ya Iowa you read that right!
I owe much of my growing up and learning how to manage responsibilities from my mission as well as having my own family for 3 years now!

Why I am a Mormon

Cause when I pray I feel that connection that goes beyond believing to knowing that God lives. I can literally feel that He is pleased with me as I read my Bible/Book of Mormon and choose to go to His church. His power is with the LDS people.

How has the Holy Ghost helped you?

The Holy Ghost is a literal being who is a different person than God and Jesus Christ but works with them as the only member of the Godhead with no body.

His mission is to guide the hearts and thoughts of all of God's children that will listen.

Since He has been in my life I can more than definetly say that He is real.

The way I feel the Holy Ghost or "hear" Him is through thoughts, I am a visual learner so I will at times have pictues come to my mind that help me know God's will.

For instance I remember recently asking God what I could do to grow closer to Him. I saw an image of a set of scriptures swallowing me. LOL that may sound really weird but I now know what I have to do, let myself be devoured by His word to read them as I may breath air.

As I have done this I feel more confident that God loves me and is aware of me.

How I live my faith

Day by day my friend, day by day... -

I am a father, a husband, the bread winner, the evening prayerer....is that a word?, the doctrine buff, the comedic relief, and much much more.

I mention all this because my faith is all inclusive, everything I do I try (emphasize on "try") to be like Jesus.

When I wake up we pray as a family, we read scriptures, we read the news of what happens everywhere in the world and try to make a difference in some small way.

We attempt to carry the Light of Christ with us that we can be a force for good.

What are some things that tell to you there is a God?

My gut instinct, you know that feeling when you walk in a room and you can feel a window open with out seeing one open, that's how I feel about God. I can feel Him and His hand in my life daily.

Everything around us testifies of a God who created all things. The complexity of life points toward an Intelligent Being who designed it, organized it and brought it to existence. The probability that everything around us may have arisen by mere chance is infinitely small, and the idea of a Supreme Creator is the only one that can make sense of all the beauty and complexity of nature including ourselves. And yet, these still do not prove the existence of God in the same sense that scientific concepts are proven. It is really impossible to prove the existence of God in the same, logical way used in science (the scientific method). That is why we say that we believe that there is a God, even if we have not seen him - this is called faith. I have not personally seen God, but my inner self tells me that he exists. Ultimately, it comes down to individual choice. We decide based on what we see and feel, on what the surroundings tell us, whether God exists or not. I choose to believe that there is a God, and this choice is one of my most important freedoms.

Are Mormons Christians?

This question always surprises me when I am asked. I always answer with a resounding "YES". We are Christians in every sense of the word. We believe in Christ. He is the head of our church. All of our teachings are based on Him. We have hope in His eternal atonement.
