Our decision to serve missions is motivated by our belief in the Gospel and our desire to fulfill the Savior's command to "preach the gospel to every creature" Mark 16:15. The Gospel teaches us that we are all sons and daughters of God, and so we feel a kinship with all of God's children and a desire to help them enjoy the peace in this life that the Gospel provides.Our missionaries are not salesman and won't take much of your time, but I know that your decision to invite them into your home will change your life for good! Missionaries can sometimes be a funny sight. if you have ever seen missionaries riding their bikes with a suit and tie, while carrying a backpack, maybe you got a good laugh. However, the Savior has commanded the members of His church to preach the gospel, and to search for those who are seeking Him but do not know where to find Him. Mormon missionaries devote two years of their lives to share a message that is fundamental to their spiritual makeup. This message is that God has a plan for each one of us, and that plan involves our families being together forever in never-ending happiness. If you had a knowledge of this wonderful truth, wouldn't you want to share it? I know and promise that if you allow the missionaries into your home, and you listen to them with an open mind and heart, that the spirit of their message will change you forever. It changed me. I am the product of missionaries who were willing to preach of Jesus Christ. I know that missionaries change lives, and I'm thankful for every missionary who serves with all of their heart, might, mind and strength. Show more Show less

Who are the Mormons?

We are normal people just like everyone else! We are nurses, hair dressers, business men, and parents. We believe in Christ and we believe in God. We read the Bible as well as the Book of Mormon because they fit hand in hand with one another! As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (that is our real name), I can say that we are just regular people finding our way in this life just like you... we have just chosen to follow the Savior and his will in that we follow the commandments and other various things that you've probably heard, like not drinking, being monogamous and so forth. But why? Well, because we truly feel happy when we do these things and do what our Heavenly Father, God, wants us to. In society, being "Mormon" may seem obscure because our standards do not line up with the standards and choices that most people choose to make, but that's just because we've decided that in order to be happy, we must follow the Lord's path. And His path is straight and narrow, and so it requires a lot of effort, but I promise you that it provides so much happiness. I have witnessed this happiness in my own life and I know that this religion's guidelines and teachings can bring this happiness to all who seek it. So that's what we are, normal people just striving to be Christ-like and serve others, filling our lives with happiness. Show more Show less
