Why I am a Mormon

Sometimes I feel like when I learn the truth about a topic there is just a feeling that it rings true. Like a pair of instruments that have been put in tune. It seems my heart and the truth I have learned sound out with a perfect pitch. When I pray about it, the answer is quite clear.

How I live my faith

In the morning when I wake up I like to start my day by reading a chapter of scripture. It is not a lot but it really helps the day go by better. I enjoy participating in church services, weekly activities, and service projects. These activities are great for a social life and for personal growth.

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

Gender roles can be a hot topic. I believe that one of the greatest blessings in my life has been to have a mother who was always there for me and a father to help guide me in my growth and life progression. The family is such a strong and wonderful base for those who are blessed with it. It is helpful that a mother can stay home and care for the kids where possible, and a father should always seek to support and protect his family. Not being married it can be difficult for me to understand everything that is entailed in a marriage but I feel that a husband and wife should labor together for the benefit of their family. They are partners who don't impose their will on each other but work as a team.

The role of husband and wife in the family is to first and foremost love each other! Wow, revolutionary!!!
I have found that when there is love and complete commitment between my husband and I, there is no problem that we cannot face together. It is much easier to teach the children with love and to handle life's challenges.
My husband and I are equals. I feel loved, respected, and appreciated by him. I hope he feels the same things from me.

What is the Book of Mormon?

We believe in a loving Father in Heaven who desires all of his children to have His precious word. "Know ye not that there are more nations than one? Know ye not that I, the Lord your God, have created all men, and that I remember those who are upon the isles of the sea; and that I rule in the heavens above and in the earth beneath; and I bring forth my word unto the children of men, yea, even upon all the nations of the earth?" (2 Nephi 29:7).

Of course, with any thing concerning God, it is important to find out, personally, if the work is true. What better source can we trust than God Himself? Through prayer we can know, independently of anyone else, where the truth lies concerning any matter.

In the introduction to the Book of Mormon we read: "We invite all men everywhere to read the Book of Mormon, to ponder in their hearts the message it contains, and then to ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ if the book is true. Those who pursue this course and ask in faith will gain a testimony of its truth and divinity by the power of the Holy Ghost." I testify that this pattern of revelation is true. If we take the time to study it out in our minds, ponder upon the truth and ask God, in faith with desire to act upon our answer, that we will receive. He has answered me, and He will answer you when you ask in faith.
