Hi, I'm Kelly Marie
I am a wife and mother. I am a Mormon.
About Me
I was 20 when I met the missionaries in 2004, was baptized shortly after and confirmed a member in January 2005. I met and married my husband through the Church's Institute program. We were married in the Boston LDS Temple in May 2007. We were blessed with a son, Brigham in February 2008 and another son, Oliver in July of 2009. We currently reside in a small suburb of Dallas, Texas.
Why I am a Mormon
My answer is simple. Because its TRUE. I lived a dangerous and rebellious lifestyle before joining the church as a teenager/young adult. I am grateful I gave the missionaries a chance, and read the book of mormon. I am grateful I took the time to pray, because thats really all I needed. I am always amazed by the power of prayer. It is real. Heavenly Father created that form of communication for a reason. He will guide you and fill your mind and heart with the path to follow.
Personal Stories
Why/How do you share the gospel with your friends?
We love our friends, all people for that matter. We are all brothers and sisters--children of God. We are blessed to have this great knowledge and understanding and we want others to feel the same way. We want everyone to have the fullness of the Gospel and a close relationship with Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ
Could you talk about your baptism?
My baptism was a very special day for me. I was 20 year old and had just ended several years of destructive behavior and a dangerous lifestyle. The baptismal waters truly felt as if they washed and cleansed me of all the sins of my past that I had repented for. It was a new beginning. A re-connection with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ that my spirit had been longing for. I think of that day and time period of my life every day and say a "thank you" in my heart to Heavenly Father for providing a way for me too meet the missionaries and have all of this Goodness enter my life. I wouldnt feel like a very good friend if I at least didnt share my beliefs with them.
How I live my faith
We are so grateful to have a church building about 4 minutes from our house! We are able to attend church meetings easily and count that as a major blessing. My husband serves as the secretary to the bishop, and I have a calling on the enrichment board for women. I love being involved in the Church's womens organization Relief Society. Being surrounded by women of great faith has given me much strength in myself as a wife and mother, but most importantly as a daughter of God. We love having Family Home Evenings every monday night although it is no small feat with a 2 year old and a baby!
We try our best to be consistent with family prayer and scripture reading. We surround ourselves with good people and try to help those in need the best we can.
