About Me

I am a college student, currently going through a major change in my life. I am really interested in medical science, but I also like business. I enjoy reading, listening to music, and spending time with those whom I love. Sometimes I tend to care too much about what others think of me, and spend too much time on my appearance. I am patient, kind, and somewhat reserved. However, when you get to know me, I am fun and sometimes quite silly. I really enjoy teaching children, and working with the youth. I look forward to my future, and learn from my past.

Why I am a Mormon

I enjoy the comfort and peace that comes with living the commandments. I have also received spiritual confirmation that this is the church I am to reside in. Reading the Book of Mormon has really helped me to understand the love that our Savior has for us. I look forward to each Sunday, because I know that I will have a chance to be with others who are so commited to living by the teachings of Christ.

How has the Book of Mormon brought you closer to God?

I have found that many of the questions I have can be answered with quite prayer, and reading of both the Bible and the Book of Mormon. There have been many instances in my life when something discussed in the Bible, was edified and clarified (and remained unchanged in nature) by the Book of Mormon.

In what ways have your prayers been answered?

My prayers have been answered in a variety of different ways. When I need guidence or support, I can always ask my Father in Heaven to lead me. Many of my answers come from reading the Holy Scriptures. When I was struggling with depression, I had already given up on myself, I somehow found enough strength to turn to the Bible. I was reading the New Testament when I came accros the following; "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." These inspiring words of Paul had a great impact on my soul. I found that needed support to get me out of the dark hole I had dug myself into.

How I live my faith

I am an example to the youth. I work with young men from the ages of 16-18, and I try to teach them the principles of the gospel. I also enjoy working with the full time missionaries of my area. We spend time visiting the sick, and talking to people in the community about our Savior.

What is the First Vision?

This instance relates to the first vision of the young prophet Joseph Smith. As Samuel, a young boy in the Old Testament was called of God to lead the people of Israel. Joseph Smith having seen God the Father, and His son Jesus Christ in a grove, was called to gather the Lord's people in these days. This event is so important, in the fact that the eternal truths of the gospel began to be restored. Having witnessed both the Father, and the Son. Joseph testified to their eternal glory as two distinct and seperate personages.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

Part of our purpose here on earth is to form eternal families. A husband and his wife possess the God-given abilities to procreate. Together they are two halves of a whole. Each possess gifts and abilities necessary to the creating and rearing of children. God has ordained it such, and any lifestyle that inhibits the progression towards forming eternal families is not in accord with God's plan and purpose for life. "Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord" (1 Corinthians 11:11)
