I am a returned missionary I served in Ecuador Quito mission 1994-1996 under President Alberth Farnsworth. When you serve as a missionary, it helps you forget about yoursel and care more for others,
I am now happily married, the mission helped me learn about others. I love God and his gospel I am endlessly grateful to him for sending us a prophet to guide us in these later days, I thank him for every blessing bestowed by his bountius hand, I feel it a pleasure to serve him and love to obey his commandments

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because only by being a Mormon I am able to be happy, I have learnt that God has prepared a plan for us to be happy. I know this is his church, the gospel and the priesthood have now been restored back to earth through Joseph Smith. I have no doubt at all. God wants all of us to be happy

How I live my faith

In my ward I have a responsibility which is to teach others about the Gospel, I think that God is giving this opportunity because he wants me to learn more and he also wants me to be a better human being, this responsibility helps me be more humble

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

Husband and wife in a marriage are meant to be equal, partners. The husband is the head of the household and is responsible for the temporal welfare of his family. His role is to support his wife. The wife is also to support her husband and to nurture her family both spiritually and emotionally. Husband and wife are meant to work side by side in providing a safe haven from the world for their family. Their roles are different, but equally important and essential to building the family and the community.

Recently I taught a Sunday School lesson about the Apostle Paul who was cast into jail because of being falsely accused of taking non-jews into the holy parts of the ancient temple. The penalty for doing so was death. It caused me to think of the sacredness of the temple, and that people throughout history have gone through a preparation process in order to approach God through temple worship.

In our time, both members of the church and non-members who have not prepared are turned away from the sacred parts of the temple not because of secrets, but rather due to the sacred nature of the temple and the preparation required to go there. Anyone can go to the temple, given they prepare themselves and demonstrate that preparation in a visit with those responsible for qualifying persons for entrance to the temple.

I love the peace that comes from being in the temple, having prepared myself to approach the Lord in His house. I feel His Spirit there. I am grateful that others who are there have prepared themselves in the same way.

Anyone who wants to know more about the nature of the temples can ask any missionary what it takes to qualify to go there. My personal experience and witness is that it is worth qualifying oneself and experiencing the beauty and peace that is constantly there.
