Corinne Marie: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Corinne Marie

I am studying Chemical Engineering. I like to dance. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am studying chemical engineering and researching forest fires. My favorite author is Jane Austen, my favorite race is a 10k, and I dance to anything with good lyrics and a good beat. My newest hobby is rock climbing, and my oldest is probably photography. I love to travel and hope Italy is my next destination. I am known for my laugh, which I love to share with others. I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

Both my parents are Mormons, and their parents are Mormons, but it is not why I am a Mormon. I am a Mormon because I prayed to God at a young age and he answered all my questions. I felt his love for me, and a great peace when I went to church and obeyed his commandments. When I prayed about the Book of Mormon I knew in my heart and in my mind that is was true. I am a Mormon because it brings joy and peace to my life.

Personal Stories

Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?

Prayer is really important to me. I pray when I wake up, before all my meals, and before I go to bed each night. I pray for help during the day, to feel God's love, and to bless my food and efforts. I also pray when I am nervous, or need help, or want to give thanks to my Heavenly Father. When I pray I feel more peace in my life. When I pray I feel closer to God and I can feel his love for me.
I also misplace a lot of things, keys especially. After looking in all the suspect places I pray. Sometimes I think of a new place to look and my keys are there! Sometimes, a few days later they fall out of a pocket. Always a solution is found. I know my prayers are answered, not always in the same way, but always in God's time.

How I live my faith

My current assignment in my ward is helping others with Family History. I love this assignment because I love learning about history myself, especially when it is personal! And teaching others has been a dream come true. I believe learning more about our ancestors is important because we can learn valuable lessons and bring families closer together.
One of my favorite assignments in my ward is organizing activities for young adults every Monday night, called Family Home Evening. Since I am at college, most of my peers and I are far from families and so we come together for our own Family Home Evening. We have a spiritual lesson taught by a different person each week, and then a fun activity and dessert. I love the interaction with my friends and the opportunity it provides to discuss spiritual topics. The fun it provides is a great bonus too!
