I was born in Burley Idaho and lived on a farm. I am a mother and grandmother who enjoys her family. I love going on walks and visiting my friends.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were members of the church who encouraged me to find out for myself if the church is true. Over the years as I grew my testimony grew as I prayed about the things I was taught. I have felt very close to God and I know he has answered my prayers. Being a member of the church brings me great joy in my life and my family. I am especially great-full to know that my family can be forever. After this life I will be with my family.

Why do Mormons do family history or genealogy work?

God's plane for us is to have families continue forever. Grandparent, parent, child and grand children, will all continue their loving relations after this life. We have been married in the temple of God forever and we can have the same connection with our loved ones from the past. This includes those who died long ago. For this reason we search our family history to make sure no one is left out.

Please share your feelings/testimony of the Restoration of the Gospel.

Joseph Smith read the Bible where it said to ask God. His prayer was answered when God and his son Jesus Christ came to him. They told him that through him the true church would be restored to the Earth. Because of this and many other revelations from God. He learned that God had a body and we are created in his image. Jesus Christ is really God's son and also has an immortal body.

How I live my faith

I like going to the woman's meetings where we learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ. One of my favorite activities is to go with one of the other women and visit members of our group. By visiting with each other frequently it helps us to develop our friendships and other interests.

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

As a member of the "God Head" the Holy Ghost is a source of comfort and guidance in our lives. When we are baptized and confirmed members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints, authorized holders of the priesthood bless us to have the "Gift of The Holy Ghost." This means that as we live the teachings of Christ, the Holy Ghost can be with us to guide and teach us.

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

Perhaps because they see how close-knit we are as a community, and it can be somewhat hard to understand this support network if you have never been part of something quite like it.

Sometimes we hear that some others may perceive or presume that members are 'brainwashed' with information and forced to conform to some standard. To those I would say that is exactly the opposite of what actually occurs under the Gospel of Jesus Christ. You see, Satan's way is to force people to conform. Study the life of Christ and you'll understand that He never forces, but instead always invites.

Freedom to choose is something that we believe is one of God's greatest gifts to mankind, and is fundamental to our faith. All people (Church member or not) are always free to choose what to believe and how to act (we call this agency) and are encouraged to seek understanding of the reasons for any invitation that Christ or the living Prophet extends to them.
