Hi, I'm Michelle
I currently reside in Memphis. I have been Mormon since I was 12.
About Me
I am a married mom of 4(ages 19, 14, and 5)...I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and then creating scrapbooks of those times. I also enjoy most other crafts (needlework, crochet, card making) as well as geneaology and online message boards and groups. I work full time in a hospital and part time in a grocery store.
Why I am a Mormon
I was baptized in Jan 1996 when I was 12, along with the rest of my family. We had gone to visit friends the previous Thanksgiving; they were taking discussions at that time with the missionaries, and my parents and they stayed up talking about the church and what they had learned thus far. When we came home, my parents called the local missionaries and we started taking the discussions as a family. I'll admit my testimony came later, and I probably joined then because my family did, but it has never felt wrong to me. It has always been right, it has always been an integral part of my life and I have never regretted it. My testimony only gets strengthened with each passing day...I have faltered; I have made less than wise decisions, but I know my Heavenly Father is always there, is always available to me and continues to bless me each and every day. I am Mormon because this is what I believe in my heart, in my soul, in my very being.
Personal Stories
How can your talents and gifts bless others?
We are all different...we all have different talents, hobbies and interests. What one person can do well another person may not have an aptitude for. And that is ok...it allows us to complement each other in whatever situations and activities we participate in.
I consider myself an organized person--this has served me well in my calling as a secretary in the women's organization, as well as in my profession in health information management. I also am a crafty, creative person...which allows me to decorate my home and make gifts for others, as well as provide additional income on occasion. It also provides an outlet for me when I need a minute to collect my thoughts (which is a benefit to others...trust me!)
How I live my faith
I am an active member in our congregation..I am the secretary in the presidency of the women's organization. I love it...it helps me meet and get to know the members. My 19 yr old no longer lives at home, but my two sons do and attend church as well. My 14 yr old attends events with the youth, and my 5 yr old loves his children's classes and activities. I also have a writing route for the visit teaching program, in which I send a note or message of some sort each month to sisters who do not attend church.
