Hi, I'm Selena
I love children, music, and wholesome fun. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I'm the lucky mom of 4 (mostly grown) children who keep me busy and entertained. I hope to be able to go back and finish college some day. I love literature and great music.
My goal is to manage my money well enough that I can perform random acts of kindness to bless the lives of others who are in need.
Why I am a Mormon
I was born in an LDS (Mormon) family, but I had to gain a testimony of the truth for myself. My parents and church leaders provided a strong foundation and the Lord has helped me to build on it.
I read the Book of Mormon and responded to Moroni's challenge in chapter 10 to pray about what I had read and felt in order to know for myself that it was true. I've had many experiences with the Spirit that are too sacred to share here. I have felt the witness of the Spirit that this is the Lord's church. I can't imagine living without the knowledge of how greatly our Father loves us.

How has your knowledge of the Plan of Happiness changed/benefited your life?
The Plan of Happiness is the Lord's answer to the three questions, "Where did I come from; Why am I here; and Where am I going?" Through revelation we know that we lived with God as His spirit children before we came to earth.
We came to earth to gain physical bodies and to be tried and tested. God has given us everything we have an everything we are, but he also gave us something we could call our own - agency. With this power of choice we determine what we will do in this life. Our test is to see if we will return that agency or will to the God who gave it to us and follow His ways. If we do, we find great blessings in this life and in the life to come.
When we die, we will return to Heavenly Father and be judged for our actions in this life. We know that we will sin and that a price must be paid. God loved us enough to send His son, Jesus Christ, to atone and pay the price for our sins if we will repent and forsake our sins. If we qualify, we will receive eternal life and the opportunity to live in heaven with our families forever.
Knowing this has given me great comfort in times of loss. My husband's brother died tragically at the young age of 17. My brother-in-law died suddenly in his early 40s. Both of these men were very close to me and it was hard to see them gone so soon. They should have lived much longer lives. Knowing that they were returning to live with our Father in Heaven made these losses more understandable and helped me to grieve in a healthy way. Truly, my grief was more for those of us who were left here without them in our midst because I know that they are with God. I know I'll be with these brothers again. It brings peace and comfort to my soul and encourages me to live my life well.
How I live my faith
I attend church and church activities regularly to learn, to feed my spirit and to support other members. I've served in the church in many volunteer capacities from children's classes to our youth organization to teaching Sunday School for adults.
My current calling allows me to organize temporal help and support for families who experience hardship due to a death in the family, birth of a baby, surgery, etc.
I try each day to live my life in a way that will bring honor to my family and to the church. I seek to be honest with my fellow man and to love and serve others.
