Hi, I'm Charity Angel
I'm a wife, a mother of 4, a singer, an author, a social media marketer, a Life Coach I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I recently went from being a single mother of four angelic children to also being a wife again. I love to sing, dance, draw, garden, and read about people, places and cultures. I also love religious studies and basic liberty principles. I have written many online articles that are published a few different places, and I released one CD of my Music, called "Only Prayers Away'. I am a goal oriented person, and I am always pursuing something! Right now, I am working as an Independent Contractor for Social Media Marketing online. I work on more then one contract at a time. I also am a Christian Life Coach and run a few websites that promote Christian products.
Why I am a Mormon
I know that this is the true and living church of Jesus Christ on the earth today. I know it because I have read all the scriptures that I can and I have prayed to god and asked Him if it is and the Holy Ghost confirmed that to me, many years ago. I am continually grateful for the many blessings, and promptings that I continue to have that build upon that foundation and strengthen my testimony more everyday. I first read The Book of Mormon and prayed to know if Joseph Smith was a prophet when I was 14. I knew that the church was good, and that the fruits were good, but I wanted to know for myself about this young man and if he had been called as Moses, Samuel or others had been for our day. I will never forget the spirit that I felt as I knelt beside my bed and prayed to know if he was a prophet, and if the Book of Mormon was true. I continue to follow the teachings of the prophets and the Gospel of Jesus Christ, because it brings joy to my life, and during times of trial and adversity, the Lord makes Himself constantly known to me. He has never ever left me without comfort, and without guidance, He has always been there. I love the Gospel, and all the ways that it helps me to progress and improve my life and the lives of others.
Personal Stories
Why/How do you share the gospel with your friends?
I share the gospel with my friends because of the great amount of hope and joy that it has brought into my life. I want my friends to have that same strength and happiness that I do. I don't want to see them losing hope when there is a great deal of hope in Jesus Christ. Even though the world can be a dark place, His light still shines here, and if we are encircled in it, we can continue to have inner peace, regardless of raging storms that we may be in. I share the gospel in many ways. I write articles, I do a lot on social networking sites, as well as my music itself was created to share my testimony with the world. I also have taught the gospel in ways that I did not plan. Just by being me and being involved in the community, many of my friends have wanted to have what I have, and have spoken with the missionaries, been baptized and are growing in the gospel.
What blessings have come through your faith in Jesus Christ?
One of the greatest blessings that have come from my faith in Christ, is healing. Throughout my life I always looked at how the atonement of Jesus Christ was for everyone else. I knew that Christ had sacrificed for me, but I had not applied it as the gift that it is. I realized, that the burdens that I was carrying were not mine, they did not belong to me, that Christ had paid for them already. I gave them to Him. It has been a huge blessing to be able to have those burdens lifted, and as I have experiences where pain returns, I can again turn to Him and give it to Him again, rather then try to bear everything on my own. The liberty that I feel from this process is amazing! I can love more, trust more, and do more because of His love for me.
What has helped develop greater harmony in your home?
I have been able to develop greater harmony in my home by simply applying the teachings of Christ. When we make our central focus Christ, everything else in our life seems to fall into the place that it belongs, whether that is a priority or completely drop off all together. I make certain that all media is either going to bring my children and I closer to Christ, or to help us learn and grow. It is uplifting and encouraging. I like to look at my home as an extension of the temple, and keeping it clean and orderly is important to me, as well as full of the spirit. Having daily scripture study and prayer are a key factor in this happening. Also teaching my children to love and serve one another as well as others also helps the love and harmony to grow.
Can you think of a specific challenge in your family that Gospel Principles helped overcome?
In December of 1997, I gave birth to a stillborn son. This was my first son, and my second pregnancy. I worried that I would never have children, and I wondered if I would see this child again in heaven. Even though I knew about the power to bind on earth and in heaven, to be sealed, or married for eternity, I had not really applied it to myself, to my life. As I searched for the answer to this question and also dealt with the pain of the loss, I gained a personal testimony of eternal families. My husband and I had been married in the temple for time and all eternity previous to this happening, and I realized that I would see my son again. Not only did this help lessen my grief, it also brought me great joy. In the years to come, many of my family members passed away. My grandmothers and grandfathers, my great grandmother and grandfathers, and others. My testimony of eternal families helped me to not mourn, but to actually be at peace with where they are, and that I will see them again.
Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?
Prayer is my direct link to my Father in Heaven. He is the source of truth, comfort, and encouragement when I need it. Prayer is a great gift of communication that we have been given. We can keep a prayer in our heart all day long, and as we hear of someone needing help, pray for them right then. When something good happens and we are grateful, we can pray right then as well. We can gain a close relationship with our Father in Heaven, and his Son Jesus Christ through the Holy Ghost when we pray. I encourage you to pray as often as possible, it will change your life.
How has the Book of Mormon brought you closer to God?
Every time I open the Book of Mormon and read, I hear God speaking to me through my spirit. The Holy Ghost testifies over and over again of the truthfulness of what I am reading. Whenever I have a question, when I am struggling, I can turn to the scriptures and find the answers. Not only is this book filled with the spirit, but the principles taught, when lived, naturally bring us closer to God.
There are times that I have been especially touched by the spirit and see different aspects of our Savior more clearly. I am able to feel more connected to Him, and I gain a stronger desire to be like Him. The faith of those who were diligent and wrote the contents of the Book of Mormon continue to inspire me. I am touched by the love that they had for those who they knew would read their words. While their hearts ached for their own people, they still thought of us, and what we would need to know to have a life full of joy and to achieve receiving the gift of eternal life. What they gave, I cherish.
Could you talk about your baptism?
I will always remember the day I was baptized. It was November 30, 1985. I was baptized the same day as my best friend Marnie. I was baptized by my grandfather. What I remember the most, was when I received the Gift of the Holy Ghost. My head was bowed, my eyes closed, and my arms folded, and as the words "I say unto you receive the Holy Ghost" were spoken, I felt like I was filled with light. Even though my eyes were closed, the light that I saw was bright and beautiful. As I was focusing on this amazing light, a great feeling of warmth and love filled my entire being. I knew at that moment, and did not doubt that I was doing what Heavenly Father wanted me to do in my life.
Which of the Savior’s teachings have influenced you in your life?
Ultimately all of the Savior's teachings have had an influence in my life, but if I were to only choose one, it would have to be his lessons on loving everyone. Loving your neighbor, loving your enemies, just loving as he did. I think about how much he suffered for each and everyone of us, even our enemies. I think about often how every person on this earth is my brother or sister, and I care a great deal about them.
Whenever a tragedy or disaster happens, I try to help however I can. If it is something local to me, I love to go and lend a hand. If it is far away, I will try to send items or donate to help people get what they need immediately. I love how the teaching of loving all resonates through Christ's church. That there are no boundaries, no limits to who will receive love and help when they really need it.
If more people loved as Christ loves, I believe that we would see the entire world change. There would be less war, less starvation, and an increase in joy. Love is powerful, it really can conquer all things. Even when I have been in situations where I have lost almost all my earthly possessions, I have been able to reconnect with that hope in Christ through the love of others. Their service and care reminded me just how much God loves me too.
How I live my faith
My faith is part of my life, it is a part of me; I live it everyday. I love to post a positive thought as well as one thing that I am grateful for everyday on my facebook page. I have held many positions in the church from music director to primary teacher, and many others as well. I love to work with children and the youth, especially when I teach them about Jesus Christ and the importance that He should have in our lives. We cannot do it alone, we all need him!
