Patricia: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Patricia

I am a daughter of God and my goal is to make my Father smile each day.

About Me

I am a wife, mother and a new grandma. I love the outdoors! Spending time in nature makes me feel close to Heavenly Father. I enjoy snow skiing, camping, taking pictures, decorating and classic rock music. I like to entertain and to surround myself with family and friends. I am a blogger and have a blog about women in the scriptures.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 18 years old, I had a friend who was going on a mission for the church. I was not a member and wanted to know why he would leave his personal life behind to be a missionary for two whole years. My questions to God were sincere and I honestly wanted to know if the gospel was true or not.
In the Book of Mormon there is a promise in Moroni 10:4 "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost."
I put these words to a test. I will never forget the first time I read the Book of Mormon and the peace that came to me. I knew that what I was reading was from God and that my prayers were answered.
I cannot imagine what my life would be without the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It brings me great peace and happiness in this life. Everything that I am and hope to become is because of my faith.

Personal Stories

Please share your feelings/testimony of the Restoration of the Gospel.

I know that God lives and that he loves us. I believe with all my heart that he knows each one of his children by name and has a plan for our happiness. I testify that he sent his son Jesus Christ into the world to lead us back to Him. I have received a personal witness from the Spirit that Jesus Christ is the Savior of this world and that he did atone for all of our sins. The Savior has declared that, “No one cometh unto the Father except by me.” I know that this is true and beseech you to give your life to Christ and partake of his blessings.
I testify that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints is Christ’s Church here upon the earth today. I invite you to read the Book of Mormon, search this website and lds.org for the answers to your questions. I encourage you to pray about the things that you learn and ask God for yourself if these things are true or not. May God bless you in this wonderful journey.

How I live my faith

One of the great things about our church is that we really take care of each other. I am the Compassionate Service Leader in my congregation or ward. This is a position in the Relief Society, our woman's organization. I help to organize service to those in need. At times these acts may be small and at other times the Relief Society may be called upon to perform service for much longer periods of time. Recently, one of the members in our ward passed away and I organized a luncheon to be served after his funeral. It was amazing to see how many volunteers came forward to provide food, kitchen help and support to the family. The Gospel of Jesus Christ teaches us to "comfort those that stand in need of comfort" (Mosiah 18:9). That is what we do. Whether it is providing meals, babysitting for a new mom or helping an invalid, we are there for each other. I am so proud of that and it is a blessing to have a calling where I see so much love in action.
