Hi, I'm Lachlan
I'm a Mormon Missionary. I was an atheist.
About Me
I was born in 1984. My parents have lived in the same house for my whole life. I graduated from high school with an O.P.1. I attend 4 years of unversity studying a Bachelor of science/Bachelor of I.T. dual degree. I never graduated from that course and started working in retail full time. I spent the next 4 years working until I had the prompting from the spirit that I must go on a mission. That is where I am now.
Why I am a Mormon
I was an atheist. I had some believe in karma (what goes around comes around), but I didn't believe in God. I had been to many christian churches in my youth so I understood the christian belief and doctrine, as well as the stories of Christ. I never felt the spirit in those places. I met a girl in my last year of high school. We started dating. I knew her beliefs and I wanted no part of them. They wern't what I believed and she was entitled to believe what she wanted. One week she came back from a trip to the temple with a hard cover copy of the Book of Mormon with a copy of her testimony inside. Reading her testimony I was overcome by a warm feeling from head to toe and I knew that what she had said in her testimony was true. God lived, that he was watching us and that this was the true church on the earth.
Personal Stories
Why do Mormons go on missions?
For many different reasons. Mostly because we know how much that the knowledge that we teach has helped our own lives so much that we want others to feel the same peace and joy we feel.
We don't want any of God's children to miss out on the blessings that we have recieved and know that everyone is entitled to them.
Through living this gospel we are able to return to live with our Father in Heaven again and we don't want anyone to miss out on that.
How I live my faith
I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I spend 24 hours a day 7 days a week teaching people of what I believe and Know to be true. Anytime I am not teaching I am studying the Gosepl to understand it better and when I am not doing either of those 2 things I am finding people to teach or serving others in the community.
